4 Best Online Survey Companies
A bunch of readers have asked for my survey company recommendations. There are a lot out there—some good and some bad. ve tried most of them in the past few years, and there are only a few that I’ll recommend. Here’s what makes a good survey company in my book: Easy qualification or rewards for completing the screener.

Why Didn't I Think of That? Wednesday
Each Wednesday I'll share a tip to make your week go more smoothly or just make you say "aha!" If your fridge is full of the kids' artwork, it's time for a change of venue! Staple their art to the garage walls. It's a fun family art gallery and will take a lot longer for you to run out of room.

Mulching the Garden with Straw
Our friend C showed up (by request) with three bales of straw. Yet another reason why it's good to have a friend with a truck. What's it good for and where does it go? Why, thank you for asking. It keeps weeds down and protects soil moisture around your (wild, unstaked) tomatoes.

Making Dishwasher Detergent
Yes, I am known for being thrifty. Now, there are some things that I can't do without, like having lunch with the girls at work, or buying Skippy instead of the store brand. But the price for some things just boggles my mind.Which brings me to dishwasher soap. Even with a great coupon and a sale at Target, it comes out to 30 cents a load!

Replacing plastic with glass
Does your "tupper" cupboard look like this? Don't despair. Mine did too until just last weekend. was tired of fighting the boxes, getting everything to fit, and trying to match the right lid to the right container. don't like to microwave food in plastic containers--and they are pretty gross with soap residue after going through the dishwasher.

Wednesday Baking | Pumpkin/Sweet Potato Chocolate Chip Muffins
The other day on my Facebook page , I related a funny story about Zoe and some muffins that I made, and a reader asked if I could share the recipe. This works out perfectly, because my well-laid plans to write up the recipe for these cinnamon rolls sort of got derailed! Another idea is to substitute applesauce for some of the oil. cups sugar.
