Don’t Spend that Tax Rebate Just Yet
I participate in a couple of online forums where members have been eagerly discussing the various ways in which they plan to spend their tax rebates this year — $300 for retirees, $600 for most individuals, $1,200 for married couples and $300 for each child per family. While some have spoken of saving it or paying down debts, others have begun dreaming of the things they’re going to buy and planning vacations.

Booking Flights Early Could End Up Costing More
For years, savvy travelers have been booking flights as many as 6 months ahead of time to take advantage of early booking discounts. This year, however, what used to be a smart move could end up costing travelers more money as airlines begin to cut back and cancel flights this fall. According to Airline Cuts Hit Fliers Who Planned Early by Matt Phillips of the Wall Street Journal, many travelers have already been influenced by this situation.

Go on, cut that cable! Websites for Watching Free TV Full Episodes, Movies and News Online
I will be the first to admit that I LOVE television and movies. I have been an avid TV-watcher since I was a kid. To this day, I can still remember the schedule for my favorite show, a cartoon called Doraemon, when I was 6 years old and living in Japan - Friday nights at 7:00 on Channel 10. Despite being a pretty intelligent kid — I read a lot and got good

Discerning Luxury from Necessity
I’ve seen several threads on forums where individuals in debt have posted a general plea for help in reducing their debt and most people simply respond by telling them to cut spending. But how to cut spending and decide what to cut and what not to cut? This is where you have to discern luxuries from necessities.

How To Make Homemade Yogurt
Those of you who’ve been reading here for a while will recognize the bones of today’s post. When I first posted it here, I used some old pictures from my original food-waste blog. Since then I’ve learned to post larger pictures and my camera equipment and skills have improved a bit.

How to Paint Wooden Furniture
I know-this post has been a long time coming! After my many posts about my painted freecycle furniture, lots of you asked for a tutorial on painting and I’m finally getting around to it. While I’m not a professional painter and my paint jobs aren’t perfect, I hope this post will be helpful to you. Before I start, though, I should probably
