This week, I am thankful: that my exam grade was not as bad as I anticipated I got 20/25, which is 80%. That’s my lowest exam grade ever, but it’s not exactly a tragedy. I can definitely pop back from that. This first exam basically got split in half this semester; we got one-half of the material this week, and we’ll have the other half of this module’s material on next week’s exam.

This week, I am thankful: that I got a better clinical assignment for semester 2 Last semester I asked for weekdays, daytime hours, and a location near to my house, and I received evenings and weekends, at the furthest location from my house. NUTS. But this semester, I’m not on weekends! I’m so super happy about that. Also, I got into the hospital that is nearest to my house; it’s only a 10-minute drive.

I got an annual symphony pass So, after my little $10 symphony evening the other week, it occurred to me that other nearby city symphonies might also have a student program. Zoe loves to build Lego kits, and she didn’t have much of a place to store some of her bigger pieces. So, I told her I’d poke around on Facebook Marketplace to see what I could come up with. Eventually, I came across a teal solid wood bookshelf for $25, so I went to pick it up. However, when I got home I was like CRAP! I didn’t take into consideration that the shelves were pretty close together, which did not leave enough room for Zoe’s taller buildings.

Hi Kristen! I would like to ask, how do you freeze cinnamon bread? Do you bake it first? Pre-slice it? Do you have a post about how you freeze stuff? Thank you! -E I do bake it first! I let it cool thoroughly, then put it in a plastic bag and stick it in the freezer. If you have a smaller household, you could cut the loaf in half and freeze each half separately; that way you can just get out half a loaf when you want some cinnamon bread.

What I Spent I cut open an avocado earlier in the week, and it was just perfect. But the next one I cut open? SO disappointing. So much pit. But hey, at least the edible part was still perfectly ripe. I spent: $48 at Aldi $17 at the Hispanic grocery store $26 at Noodles and Co. So, $91. What I Spent It was a cheap week at my house. I spent $18 at Safeway, and that was it! That’s an awfully short spending report. So, here’s a picture of the brilliant blue sky from yesterday. I walked out of an appointment, looked up, and felt so happy when I saw it, so I stopped and took a picture. Also, when I got home from the appointment, I went out for a walk, stopped in a sunny spot, closed my eyes, and just soaked up the sunshine.

This week, I am thankful: that I got to give an injection this week I had only ever done injections in the lab, in a fake practice sponge, and I felt rather terrified of giving an injection to a human being. It’s just a label, from my lab bag. No needles in sight. ? But this week in clinical, I did it! I was nervous, but it went fine, and I think I will be less nervous next time.

1. I made pudding with slightly sour milk Milk is a challenge for the two of us! It seems like we are always either running out too soon, or we have too much to use in time. I will figure this out eventually. But since I haven’t figured this out yet…I used some slightly sour milk to make this chocolate pudding. And the rest was just enough to make some cinnamon bread , so I froze that, labeled appropriately, so that I remember what it’s for!
