We planned our purchase in the heady days just prior to the recession of 2008/2009. If our taxes had been lower, it would not have equaled or exceeded my spouse’s entire gross income and he would not have decided to retire. We planned to rent out the property and thought it would rent quite a few days of the year.

The economic effects of the recession of 2008 are still very much upon us. Establishing a funding source to eradicate incurring new debt is equally as important to the debt reduction picture as paying off old debt. As a result of the recession, many have resolved to forever alter the way that they conduct their household business.

While we were all plenty burned by the 2008 crash, with a slow turnaround there remain many sectors in which to place your investing dollar. Allstate has gained a reputation for cutting out demographic prejudice in the hiring process, hiring qualified women and people of color in equal measure.

That comment made me think about all of the news articles written by supposed 'experts' who predicted that we had (or would) hit bottom in 2008, or 2009, or 2010, or even 2011! It seems that those of us in the trenches (like my commenter) may have more insight than the experts!

And don’t buy a bomber style with a banded trim around the waist or collar…those are so 2008 and for Fall 09 you want to look for clean and sleek lines on the jacket! There are a lot of “cheap&# jackets out there to tempt you, but don’t be fooled…all PVC is not created equal.

When the Great Recession began in 2008/2009, my boss at the time (a Vice President of the company) and her spouse consulted their financial adviser to see what they should do. “Other things equal, an increase in the stock market makes people wealthier. They asked him what would likely cause us to come out of recession.

He flew to NYC to see them play in, what 2008? They are classy and rock and roll in equal measures. And then they hit Dallas last year and we went together. I have to say I’m not a huge MBV fan as far as recordings go, but live, there is nothing, and I mean nothing, like the experience of seeing them play.
