I bought an inexpensive pair of dress pants I have something scheduled where I need to dress up, and…the last pair of dress pants I have is from somewhere around 2012 or earlier. I tried them on, but I was definitely skinnier in 2012 than I am now because I could barely button these pants, even standing up.

We had to sell it less than 3 years after buying it, and between that and the market timing (bought in 2009, sold in 2012), we were lucky to come out of the whole situation with our original mortgage paid off completely by the sale! What’s one thing you splurge on? Cycling equipment and gear.
