HELP I AM IN A FASHION DEPRESSION

Fashion Without Guilt

Let me just start by saying that I am a little tired. I work at a Insurance Company were the dress code is not " strictly enforced" but we still are not able to wear what you would like. I am sitting here thinking "Wow. Breck you look horrible". I have really let myself go. My appearance is not what a " Affordable Fashionista Blogger " should look like.

I Just Can’t Get Enough, I Just Can’t Get Enough

Work With What You've Got

Last night I had the pleasure of meeting some great bloggers. Reiko from God’s Favorite Shoes was in town, and I asked her if she could meet up with me. I was so glad she said yes, because I just adore her. I invited Tina , since it had been FAR too long since I’d seen her, and Reiko brought Juanette. We met for dinner and had a great time. I can’t wait to do it again.

The “Perfect” Messy Bun

Cheap Chica's Guide To Style

I love having long hair and honestly can’t imagine what I would look like without it! Call it my signature! But in the summer when it’s blazing hot, this mane can be a little too much to handle, which is why I always end up pulling it back into a ponytail… Now it’s not like I want to wear it that way but my hair is thick and I have a lot of it-so its always been really chanllenging to get it to do much else.

Dear CheapChica…

Cheap Chica's Guide To Style

I’ll be spending New Year’s Eve at a friends loft party in New York City and while it may sound glamorous, the not so glamorous truth is that I’m a starving student with almost no budget for this big night out. I can probably spend $50-100 on a new dress, but no more. Problem is, everything I find looks super cheesy and cheap (in the bad way of course)!

While I have no complaints about my week long vacation in Hawaii, it’s kind of nice to come back to Philly and feel a slight chill in the air… The second I got home, I took all of my boots out of storage and started planning my many many outfit combos when I realized that I have no cute sweaters to wear NOW ! Beauty: Voluminous Curls

Cheap Chica's Guide To Style

Lately, voluminous waves like these are my favorite way to style my hair! Styling it this way looks like it took so much time when it really only took 15 minutes ! My trick to getting perfect curls so fast, is curler clips + hot rollers from CONAIR. First, if you don’t already have them, buy curlers…they’re faster than an iron! I only use the larger sized ones out of my jet and that easily gets the job done, but you can use as many as you need.

How To: Mix Prints (the right way)

Cheap Chica's Guide To Style

Mixing prints and patterns is not for the faint of heart. This can be one tricky look to pull off, but if done correctly, this can be a fun, bold fashion statement! Summer, in my opinion, is the perfect time for mixing prints. A simple, striped tank can be paired with a floral skirt to create a subtle mixed print look…but be WARNED…there is a HUGE line that can potentially be crossed with mixed prints.

Trend Alert: Fringe Fest

Fringe has been around for centuries, so don’t think of a spike in fringe embellished clothing as a 60’s revival thing. The Native Americans used the fringe on their clothing to slick water off of their skin. While I don’t need my fringe for functional reasons, it’s nice to know that this fashion trend has some important history to it.

Put Your Sequins Where Your Feet Are

Come Dec. 26, every store will be dipped in glitter, glitz and glam for New Years Eve (if they aren’t already). The New Years Eve dress can be a tricky thing to come across since it seems like the only option the give us gals is sequins dipped in more sequins (not that it is always a bad thing). But for 2011, we suggest putting those sequins (or glitter) in a different place, say on your shoes ?
