Gizmo Sip Kids Water Bottle Review #SpillProofGizmo
Mom! I spilled my water on the floor (or the back seat, or the table)! How many times have we all heard this from our kids? Even after they outgrow sippy cups, kids can be clumsy (can’t we all?) and accidents happen. We still want our kids to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water. This is why I was excited when Contigo.com asked me to review their new Gizmo Sip Kids Water Bottle.
The Gizmo Sip Kids Water Bottle is a 14oz BPA free water bottle with autoseal technology. What is autoseal technology? Autoseal technology is Contigo’s patented design that automatically seals the water bottle after each sip. The water bottle comes with an extra large button to press when a child takes a sip. As soon as their hands release the button, the bottle is sealed again. No accidental spills by dropping the bottle or knocking it over. Let me tell you I love this feature. With regular water bottles, no matter how tightly they are closed, if your child drops it or knocks it over, you have a spill. We tested the Gizmo Sip Kids Water Bottle by dropping it and sitting it on its side for an extended period time. No spills and no water leakage!
You can see a quick demonstration of the water bottle below:
Autoseal technology isn’t the only cool feature of the Gizmo Sip Kids Water Bottle. First, it comes with a cool see through lid that fascinates curious kids. It also has a spout cover to help keep out dirt and germs. Another awesome feature is the easy clean lid. It pivots open to come apart and the lid and the bottle can be put in the dishwasher for cleaning. I love this feature almost as much as the autoseal; almost. It is really convenient to be able to pop the entire water bottle into the dishwasher. One less thing a busy Mom or Dad needs to worry about.

My daughter spilled her grape juice, the purple kind not the white kind on our newly reupholstered chairs!
it seems like the spill proof cups on the market work for a bit & then leak. I’d love to try this out out.

At the beginning of a long road trip, the spout fell off of my daughter’s sippy. That left her with a wet car seat for the duration of our long drive. Poor kiddo!

My daughter is a walking clutz. She is 9 years old and the worst spill moment we ever had was when we were in the car on our way to a basketball game that was over an hour away from home… Somehow she spilled the entire bottle of water we had given her everywhere from her shirt to her pants to her booster seat, even the seatbelt. This cup would be a great help for car rides!!!!!

We have 4 kids under the age of 11. Our 4 year old is infamous for taking her water bottle everywhere. Needless to say, we have had many more than 1 “Mom, I spilled my…” moment. The 2 worst ones were in my van (when the full bottle flipped upside down with the lid open between her car seat and her brother’s booster seat) and in her bed… which is an Ikea loft bed without a waterproof cover and it happened over the winter so it took days to dry because, once again, the bottle was full! A true spill proof bottle would be awesome! I can only imagine the messes we have in store for us as our 6 month old gets older… lol!

My 2 year old loves milk in the morning in his current “spill proof” cup. One morning he decided to leave it on the couch, on its side. There was milk seeped into the couch, after a long cleaning, i try to keeep his milk at the dinner table since spill proof cups really arent all that spill proof!

My husband and I were watching our niece – before our daughter came along. We only have a laptop computer, and it always sits on the coffee table. Well, we had just bought our niece a new sippy cup – guaranteed to be spill proof – well, she sat it down on the coffee table and started to play. As she turned around with her doll, she hit the cup onto the keyboard of the laptop. The red fruit juice went EVERYWHERE! So much for spill proof. It was on the keyboard of the laptop, the carpet, the coffee table, the couch, my outfit, and her outfit. I did not know what to clean first. I had to turn the laptop upside down, unscrew the screws, and throw it into an industrial bag of rice. Then, I had to scrub the couch and the carpet. My outfit never did come clean! Please help! It is only a matter of time until the same thing happens with our daughter, and I don’t have enough rice on hand!

Last year, my oldest daughter would take a water bottle to Kindergarten and had a side mesh pocket in her backpack for them. She would come home with her backpack and start taking things out and the cup had leaked through to her folders inside! Needless to say, despite closing the bottle, it was not leak proof. I never found one that worked right and could stand up to bus rides!

We have had various types of cups that shouldn’t leak or spill, and we’ve yet to find one that lives up to this. If our sippy cups are upside down at all (which they often are after my 15 month old used them!) then they leak everywhere. On more than one occasion everything in the diaper bag gets soaked because a cup is flipped over. Having this spill proof cup would be awesome!! I would love a dry diaper bag!

My 6 year old daughter comes home from school with her backpack (including everything in it) soaked. Her current water bottle leaks almost everyday. It is a good, expensive brand so now I am looking everywhere for a water bottle that does not leak!!

My 3 year old gets into the fridge when we’re not looking. I can only say ‘Kool-Aid on the couch’. Spill Proof cup would’ve been a life saver!

I have 4 young kids and pretty much have had anything and everything spilled everywhere. The worst was one time I was dress ready to go out with my husband and I was kissing the kids goodbye when my youngest jumped on my lap and spill his drink on me.

I have a 2 yr old and carpets. Bad combination. My daughter is always thirsty but only takes a little zip of water. So I have water bottles all over the house. So one time we were in my room, my daughter wanted water so I gave her a bottle, I literally turned around for a second and when I turned back there was water all over my carpet. I cleaned it as best as I could but it was not good enough. My carpet got sticky. I hated it. I had to live with for 2 days until I was able to get someone to wash my carpet. So the bottle would help me a lot with its auto seal feature and the spout cover to keep it nice and clean.

My kids tag team me with spilling things! No real horror stories.. no lost electronics.. just lots of spilled drinks! I love these water bottles for my husband and I.. the kids often steal them.. and I would love some kid size ones that my 1 and a half year old can handle better! Thanks!!

My 3 year old nephew wanted my water bottle, so I poured some in his cup, which he in turn spilled on my KEYBOARD, saying, “oh no, sorry Auntie Cindy”. So, those spill proof cups would come in handy for me since my nephew is with me a lot.

Tonight, I walked away from the dinner table and my son decides that he will pour water all over the table and floor. We need new spill proof cups. I am more than willing to try your cups.

My 5yr old daughter spilled her cup all over my husband’s new truck seat. Thanks for the giveaway!

With 4 boys there is always a spill but My 17month old likes to purposely spill out his cup, bowl, plate , it really does not matter which one when he is done drinking or eating. Has been know to stand in one spot and spin with xyz spilling all over the place. I could really use a truely spill proof product.

My son freaks out and demands new clothes if he gets even a tiny bit of water on him so these sound great

Once I found my daughter in the living room having spilled her water on the floor. She had taken her pants off and was trying to use them to clean up the mess! (She was two) her twin brother was trying to help with a throw pillow. Needless to say, we banned drinks in the living room. I’d love new cups, we could take drinks back in the living room again with no worries!
