Home Depot announces possible data breach, change your card numbers ASAP

If you used a credit card or debit card at Home Depot anytime between April and May you will want to change your card number immediately.  Home Depot announced yesterday they are investigating a possible data breach/hack by the same group that attacked Target last year.

Watching your accounts for activity is usually not enough.  It's better just to change your card numbers immediately because your information is sold on the black market.  The criminals can use the numbers at anytime, months after you've forgotten about the breach.

Home Depot has not updated their corporate site with a news release however they did tell Associated Press yesterday that they are launching the investigation after they noticed suspicious activity resembling a hacker attack.

According to the AP story more than 2,200 locations may have been affected.
