Bargain Buzz: Remlap / Village Springs possibly getting a Dollar General

Got a tip from a reliable source that

Dollar General brok

e ground on a site in Remlap/Village Springs off of AL 75.

The site is

a plot just feet across the Blount County/Jefferson County line. 

Currently it's bare and had been used for piles of gravel in the past.

There are homes off of Thomas Drive the cross point with AL 75 on the north bound side.

A call to Dollar General headquarters in Tennessee was not immediately returned.

This will be a significant change for the bedroom communities of Village Springs and Remlap.  Both are without major retailers with the Remlap Super Saver which is a gas mart.

Both communities are unincorporated.
