My daughter wanted to be a scarecrow for Halloween this year.
I wanted to go a different route from the regular overalls and plaid shirt.
Here's how it went down --
1. The hat, I bought this wool felt hat at
a year ago for $1. It was 90 percent off and I thought it would be cute for my kids to wear in pictures. It reminded me of elves.
Anyway, saved it in my I'll use this later closet.
2. I bought a long sleeve oversized green T-shirt in the boys department in Walmart. The price was $3.47.
3. She had denim look alike leggings and boots.
4. Fabric -- I stopped by the fabric scrap bin at the Albertville Walmart this weekend and found a yard of sheer orange and tan fabric for $1.46. Snagged it.
5. Sunflowers -- bought two for 50 cents each.
Directions:
I cut out a collar for the T-shirt out of the sheer fabric and I also made cuffs.
I had enough to cut three long strips and loosely braided them to create a rope belt. I pinned a flower to the hat and to the belt.
I added freckles and a nose using a brown eyeliner and blush on the cheeks.
Hat $1
Flowers $1
Shirt $3.47
Fabric $1.46
