The Kindness Mission
Alabama tornado recovery update on volunteer efforts for this weekend. Please share this post with your facebook friends. There are so many needs to be met! On Saturday at 8:00am volunteers will be meeting at Faith Community Fellowship, located at 7660 Gadsden Hwy 11, Trussville, AL 35173. Teams will be assigned and dispatched to affected neighborhoods. On Saturday at either 8:00 or 1:00 and/or on Sunday at 1:00, volunteers can meet at NorthPark Baptist Church, Trussville, AL. Volunteers will need to participate in a quick orientation before volunteering in neighborhoods. Volunteers must be 16 or older; if younger than 16, one must have a parent to accompany him/her. Those that are older and stronger will be assigned to work groups (cutting trees, cleaning up, etc.); younger volunteers will distribute food, water, garbage bags, and supplies. Donations needed: packing tape, bubble wrap, large, heavy-duty garbage bags, and other packing supplies. However, at this time, they do not need boxes; a truckload of boxes were delivered yesterday. They also need laundry detergent, diapers, baby wipes, and work gloves.

Inside the cavern, you will find Big Rock Canyon, Mystery River and some of the most beautiful formations Mother Nature has ever created. Among them, you will see Stalagmite Mountain, The Frozen Waterfall and Goliath, a huge stalagmite column that reaches the ceiling of the cave some 45 feet above! Cathedral Caverns is the perfect field trip for your school, church or other group. You can visit anytime, as the cave maintains a comfortable 60-degree temperature year round.
