Prepping for College Exams Without Spending a Fortune
W ith a 16-year-old high school student in the house, we're preparing for the college entry exam also known as the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). We found an attractive, instructor-led prep course in the Miami-Dade College catalog. Paying for exam prep classes can be expensive. Check out the library. Create a study group.

The Cost of Delay: Don't Put Off The College Savings Plan
As a student, I was docked points when I turned in late term papers. Late-grade penalty flashback: I recently registered my children in a state-run prepaid college savings plan. And I am feeling the sting of delay and regret. There's a financial penalty for procrastination. The delayed savings penalty feels like a tardy-grade penalty.
