Breaking Down The Budget by Percentages.
I read an interesting article in USAA Mag recently, "Budgets Are The New Black," and I thought it did a great job of breaking down budgets by percentages (plus, what a killer headline!). Monday Q&A-Specificity and budgeting
For the most part, we have budgeted amounts for our expenses. To take your example, we have a $400/month budget for food, a $50/month budget for clothes (which usually ends up being more than we need), and a $40/month gift budget (this most gets saved for Christmas expenses). how much you spend on clothing? Stephanie.

Monday Q&A-Temptation and Seasonal Buying (not in that order)
Do you have some observations/guidelines about the annual sales of certain staples? As long as your budget isn’t the sort where you’re just barely getting by, I would highly recommend setting aside money for things that you want. Short-term, I want to save up enough to pay for a car in cash. Clare. Reese.
