I read an interesting article in USAA Mag recently, "Budgets Are The New Black," and I thought it did a great job of breaking down budgets by percentages (plus, what a killer headline!). Housing: 42% ($1900) - Washington D.C. Tags: budgets money management tools and resources Transportation: 15%. REALLY like that idea.

dc bites: masa 14
New(ish) DC small plates destination, Masa 14 , is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to visit. If you want to try this place out, but worried it may put you over budget, try going during happy hour (weekdays 5pm - 7pm) when the restaurant serves drinks and a few small plate dishes for $4 each. lol…).
