Lessons From the Mama: Money Management Isn't JUST For Adults
However, there was only one thing she never talked to me about --- finances. When a child asked mom or dad about saving and budgeting, they were more often than not told “Don’t worry about that” or “It is none of your business.” As a result, I have had to learn a lot of lessons on my own. My mother taught me so much when I was growing up. She shared her morals and values with me and because of her I’ve grown into the woman, wife & mother I am today.

Reader winner: coping with unemployment
Reader Debra wins my review copy of Creative Unemployment: How To Transcend Job Loss for her understated comment.
I would love to read this book. One thing that comes up often – even when you have a job – is how to talk about money with friends who want to spend more than you do. I have been looking for work since the end of April – it is very emotionally draining.

To calculate the estimated savings, Relocation.com looked at a hypothetical move from New York to Los Angeles with 7,500 pounds of household goods, which is roughly the size of a three-bedroom house. Dryer Sheets - How To Get The Most Mileage From Them
In my family, I’ve learned one of the most frugal things we can do is to try to cut down spending. Sometimes, though, that doesn’t require us to go without certain items. Whether we’re talking about draining the last drop of ketchup out of the bottle or keeping our car way longer than our neighbors would keep their old car, getting the most out of regular items helps me stretch our budget.
Often, I simply stretch the things that we’ve already purchased as far as they can go. Dryer sheets are one of those things that I’ve learned to get more out of.

Airport Survival Trips: How to Wait for Your Flight Without Spending too Much
Grounded by delays or missed connections, it’s common to spend hours waiting for a flight at an airport. Here’s how I avoided temptation while waiting for a flight to Orlando. • BYOB : Bring your own books. With books from home, I’m less tempted to make an impulse purchase. Your first budget: how to get started
This post is for my younger brother and sister, who are both in the early 20s and recently admitted to me that they have no idea how to manage their money. The cool thing is that they are both interested in learning how to handle their finances!
Kiddos, I’m starting with the absolute basics so don’t try to get out of this by saying you don’t know how.
