Fun Food Crafts Using What’s Already In Your Pantry

When my kids were younger, all they ever wanted to do was craft. Painting, drawing, gluing, cutting, you name it! We would spend hours just searching for things online to make and making them! After a while, supplies got really expensive for silly crafts they weren’t planning on keeping. So I soon decided, why don’t I use items that I already have?

Food.

Yes, food! I went over to my pantry and realized, there are a lot of things I could use for crafts and they’ve been here all along. Buying food in bulk saves you money already, but now it can even cover your at-home crafting needs!

  1. Pasta Necklaces via The Spruce Crafts. You can make necklaces or bracelets in any shape or color! These are so fun, super easy to make, and who doesn’t have some sort of pasta in their cupboard or pantry?
  2. Homemade Playdough via DIY Natural. This was always one of my favorites as a kid because I loved being able to choose my own colors. There are so many different ways to make play-dough so feel free to use your imagination! This recipe is the best though because it’s an all natural way of making it!
  3. Watercolors via I Can Teach My Child. These are such a fun idea and you can even use kool aid too (and they would smell amazing at the same time).
  4. Fingerpaints via Betty Crocker. When I first used this recipe, I was amazed at how well it worked and I attribute it to the soap!
  5. Edible Slime via Moms Who Think. I feel like I’m so out of touch anymore, I’m not even sure if Slime is still popular – but who doesn’t like playing with ooey gooey fun!
  6. Oatmeal Box Crafts via Felt Magnet. This site seriously has over 30 ideas of what you can do with those emptyoatmeal boxes!
  7. Cereal Crafts via Play Ideas. Don’t forget those boxes of cereal in your pantry! There are a plethora of ideas you can do with those. Play Ideas shows you 25 you can do with Fruit Loops, Honeycombs, Cheerios, and more!

There really are endless possibilities with what’s in your pantry. Keep these items in your pantry at all times so when your kiddos demand a crafting day, don’t stress, you got this in the bag (or pantry!)
