I manage the finances for our business and our family and by August 2013, I felt the weight of the situation. On top of our normal day to day expenses, the new property taxes were due, we had more ownership expenses than we realized, and we had a family to feed. I wasn’t sure how I was going to pay for everything that month.

I'm not sure what my kids enjoy more - licking the icing or eating the candy. I buy two gingerbread house kits; one for each daughter. My kids have and my oldest daughter was super excited when she received one for her birthday last fall. The cup needs to sit undisturbed (which can be tricky with kids) and away from direct sun-light. I placed the cup on our breakfast bar ledge and gave the kids strict orders to 'look, but don't touch'.

This is our family's final week of summer. Our oldest daughter starts Kindergarten and my youngest starts her first year of preschool, so in other words, our mornings are about to get hectic. I let the sun dictate the kids' bedtime and their tired heads have been hitting their pillows around 9:30 pm, not the school year bedtime of 8pm.

I had the chance to take 2 of my kids to Disney on Ice for the Rockin Ever After special thanks to USFamilyGuide and we had a blast. My daughter is a HUGE Disney Princess fan, so she was so excited to go (just look at that smile!). My son is a big Mickey fan and loved seeing Mickey and Minnie dance around.
