Project 25: Reclaiming Christmas, Day 18, Hope House donation

Remember the other day when I posted about Project 25?  Brief summary, my husband and I are dedicating 25 days to lesson giving with our children.

Today we are on Day 18.

So far it has been challenging and rewarding.  Without sounding cheesy, this has been one of the best decisions my family has made to honor the Christmas season.

Today we chose Hope House in Oneonta.  According to their site they are the only homeless shelter in that area but they are more than that, they offer a number of community outreach programs as well.

They are housed in the old Blount Memorial Hospital campus on AL 75.   Long vacant, the current owners transformed it into a thrift store, homeless shelter, learning facility, counseling center, GED classroom, parenting assistance outreach and more.

out.

Now onto our donation.

We stopped by Aldi and the stove top stuffing was marked down to 29 cents a box.  They were going quickly.  So we bought a case of 16 boxes.  A small investment but hopefully the donation will help them prepare meals or provide a few in their food pantry initiatives.

Here's a recap of our other projects:

Saturday, day 1, Dec. 1 -- we donated more than 75 toy and clothing items to Mission Possible.  All of which were in good shape and had plenty of life left.

Sunday -- day 2, Dec. 2 -- We created home made Christmas cards for US soldiers through the Holiday Mail for Heroes.  Go
