Brief summary, my husband and I are dedicating 25 days to lesson giving with our children.
Today, day 19, we decided to donate items to the Firehouse Shelter's Christmas Day Gift Bag Project benefiting homeless men in the Birmingham-area.
We called to confirm they are still accepting donations through Friday. They said they are in need of hats, gloves and deodorant.
Tonight we put together a gift bag of deodorants, shaving cooling cloths and body wash. All from our stockpile. It's not much but hopefully it will help. If we get a chance to stop by a store to get some toboggans or gloves we will.
Items are accepted anytime between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. at 1501 Third Avenue North

The Firehouse Shelter solicits donations from individuals, churches and businesses in an effort to provide a Christmas Day Gift Bag for the homeless men of Birmingham who visit our Shelter Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! We need 300 T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, Sweatpants, Long Sleeve T-Shirts, Toboggan, Gloves, Thermal Socks, and Underwear for the Gift Bags we distribute Christmas night!
All sizes clothes from S to XXL are needed, although XL & XXL are our most common sizes.

Today we raided our wrapping paper stash to make a contribution to Children's Hospital Sugar Plum Shop.
The
for parents of patients staying at Children's Hospital to shop for free and get toys and items for their children.
While toys and items for teens are needed, so are wrapping supplies.
Day 7, Dec. 7 -- We made treat bags and delivered cupcakes to the children living at Jessie's Place.

Day 10, Dec. 10 -- we chose the Warming Hearts Helps to Warm Seniors program sponsored by the Middle Alabama Area Agency on Aging.
Day 11, Dec. 11 -- We chose the Greater Birmingham Humane Society. After school today we put together a box of office supplies and cleaning products. Also we picked up a giant bag of newspapers my mom and dad were going to recycle.
