More r

ces.  When to buy etc.

On the surface the best time to buy appliances would be on holidays.  Stores have promotions on those days and often sales associates are eager to make a sale.

HOWEVER --

January is a great time to look for deals on large appliances.  Floor models, last year's models and more are usually ready for markdowns this month.

If you want the latest model then ask your associate when they will go on sale.

Since a number of associates work on commission develop a relationship with the sales and be loyal to him or her.  Promise to return if the information they provide is reliable and accurate.

Here are some tips to buy:

1. Look for floor models or refurbished models.

2.  Start memorizing prices each week for the models you want.  Just like groceries appliances have sale cycles.  You want to buy at the lowest price point.

3.  Research the quality and reviews for every item.

4.  Buy online -- sometimes you can score an awesome price, get cash back when using www.ebates.com or Shop At Home.

5.  Quality over price is always better -- You would rather get 10 years out of a $600 model than a few out of a $300 model.

6.   Ask about trade-ins, haul offs, installation deals and more. -- We got a $800 credit when we purchased our set when remodeling our kitchen. We took the old appliances and got the amazing credit towards a new set.

7.  Ask for cash discounts.

8.  Ask about warranties.
