Project 25: Christmas reclaimed, new Dedman family tradition started

Today I must admit was a bit of a bummer on the Project 25 front.  We seriously had intentions of getting out today to donate a treat to the E-911 offices in our area for the dispatchers.

I was really sick today and it took everything in me to get out of bed this morning for the kids.

While it's no excuse, we will hopefully make it to the dispatchers tomorrow.

Project 25 was a great idea on a number of levels for our family.

Here are some of the lessons we learned:

1.  The kids are still young and grasping some of the concepts we wanted them to learn will be an on-going process.

2.  Everyday a new idea would present itself without fail.  It's amazing how God works.

3.  Donating became a joyful event for the family instead of a chore.  God loves a cheerful giver.

This will be a new tradition for our family.  I've made a list of the items I can purchase during after-Christmas sales this year to benefit those in need next year.

Here are some of the items:

1.  Wrapping paper -- a number of charities request wrapping paper donations.

2.  Treats and treat bags -- to benefit the children at homeless shelters

3.  Christmas cards -- To pass out at nursing homes or send to soldiers.

4.  Jackets, coats and more for Angel Tree donations.

5.  Christmas mugs
