This week, I am thankful: for a little flower/card drop off Reader Kim lives in my area, and she kindly dropped off flowers and a little encouraging card on my front bench this week. for the flowers and plants I see We are moving toward fall, and after fall comes a season of brown, dead scenery.

Something else fascinating: I saw this big goldenrod plant one early morning… And then when I got closer, I noticed there were a whole bunch of bees (ok and a few wasps) sitting on it, motionless. I suppose for a bee, a flower is just as good as a bed is for a cat.

The little flower characters Zoe made are so cute. ? And still, I am always finding new plants that I’ve never seen before. So to make up for it, on her half-birthday this past Friday, we did make a cake! Her friend came over and the two of them decorated a pink cake, using Pinterest as inspiration.

for beautiful plants, always Don’t these purple flowers look rather magical? I’m especially happy that the itching is over because my goodness, it was so hard not to scratch the skin right off of my ankle. for the arrival of fall weather I’m wearing jeans as I type this! My windows are open! It’s not humid!

Like…you’d have curtains, sheets, and a comforter all made from the same flowered fabric. I’ve painted picture frames all with the same paint so that they match, and I’ve done the same with plant pots. How 90s is this photo? Well…MY SWEATER HAS DUCKS ON IT.

We also grow a large garden & lots of flowers, fruit trees & a 100-year-old grapevine. I seriously overextended on planting and underestimated how much work my dad used to do so hopefully I’ve learned from my mistakes & will not kill myself in the garden this year!
