Utilize the Freezer Freeze those leftovers. Raw vegetables like carrots, peppers, onions and parsley can be shredded or chopped and bagged and stored in the freezer for future dishes. Stockpile in the freezer. I stocked up and put them in the freezer for storage and to prevent bugs. Set the leftovers up buffet style.

Homemade chicken stock is an easy way to stretch your grocery dollar, especially when you buy your whole chicken at your buy price. My buy and stock-up price is.79/lb. Stir well and place in freezer containers. Will last about one week in the refrigerator and 3 months in the freezer. Do not be alarmed.

No one likes the thought of pesticides, synthetic hormones, and antibiotics in our food, but the price of organic prohibits many from buying a completely 100% organic. Unfortunately, these high prices are a result of strict guidelines for foods to be labeled organic. Compare the price per unit of product in question.

In my sales circulars this week, prices for hams range from 79 cents a pound to $2.49/pound, pound, depending on the type and cut you desire; some of the prices are 50% off of the normal price. lb, that is less than half price. I stock up my freezer, pantry and I like to buy extra to donate to the food bank.

And even if you are not roasting a turkey on Thanksgiving for guests, take advantage of the low turkey prices right now and buy one for your family. The leftovers can be stored in the freezer like I suggest below. If you forget to get the turkey out of the freezer in time, you can thaw the turkey in cold water.
