Power is still out for a number of central Alabama residents and if lighting is a concern here are some ideas to light up your home without using flashlights:
Candles of course are the obvious, check thrift stores and dollar stores. Inspect the candles before using. Look for cracks or debris. Also make sure you don't fall asleep or leave a candle unattended.
Christmas lights especially LED lights plugged into a power pack makes for an easy light source that illuminates a large space.
Solar landscape lights -- you can pick these up at the Dollar Tree or Walmart for 97 cents. Bring them inside once the sun goes down.
