Frugal Living & Couponing: Never Pay for Magazine Subscriptions, Well Maybe 1

magazines.jpg

You've seen the magazine salesmen, the magazine fundraisers, the free trial subscription offers, but do you participate?

I hope not.  (I know slam me for not purchasing the magazine subscriptions for schools, but they are way overpriced)

Here's why --

Let me start by saying this.   There's only one magazine subscription on the planet I will pay for and that's All You Magazine.  You can get good deals on this from a variety sources.  So if you see one lower than the $1.67 an issue rate the magazine offers, jump on it.

The main reason for not paying for magazine subscriptions is this -- you can get them for free.

This week alone 7 free subscriptions arrived in my mailbox.  SEVEN!!!  That's not counting the 7 OTHER free magazines I received earlier this month.

Magazines topics I receive:

Computers

2 Photography magazines

Cheerleading (for my daughter)

Legos

Cooking

Retail business

Ebony

Spin

Watch

Working Mother

Martha Stewart LIVING (yes it was free)

Automotive

Men's health

Not all of these magazines may be of interest to you but I enjoy looking at different magazines and if I know I'm not going to read something I pass it along to someone else.

Why is it important to participate in free offers?  One word -- COUPONS.

Coupons for a variety of products can pop up in any form and in any magazine.

Difference between free and trial offers:

1.  Free offers --

These are offers that you have no obligations to the company and do not provide any credit card information.  You will receive a notice when the free subscription is up asking you to subscribe.  Then you can either decline or accept.  You are charged nothing and will only receive a few notices once the subscription is over.   These are basically SAMPLES.

Once you get a subscription request form from the publisher it may look like a bill but it is not.

2.  Trial offers --

These offers are quagmires.  You can get in a battle with the publishers trying to cancel a free trial subscription.  Stay away from them.  Once you accept it you are automatically billed when the free trial is over.

So where can you go to get in on the free magazine subscriptions?

First create a junk or sample email address you use for freebies and offers.

Then go to

-- you'll need to take short surveys that you can fly through.  Make sure you click NO on any trial offers or extra junk emails and create an account.  Remember your password because you'll need it as free sample magazine subscriptions roll into your inbox.

Same as Free Biz Magazine and often magazine titles are better.

ThunderFap as a free magazine offers tab to check out here.
