Frugal living: Homemade icepacks & heating pads

ICE PACKS:

If you've been on Facebook recently you may have seen this picture floating around. It's a tip to create a homemade ice pack.

I haven't tried it, however I do keep a wet washcloth in a Ziplock bag in our freezer at all times.

We use it as an emergency ice pack quite frequently and leave it in the bag so we can reuse it and contain the mess.

HEAT PADS: (Here's what I've done)

Another tip for heating pads in a pinch.

We a towel and squeeze out the extra water.

Stick it in the microwave for about a minute.  It will be hot.  Wrap it in tin foil to contain heat and drop it down in a Ziplock bag.  The foil maintains the heat longer.
