Although I live 200+ miles away from my two grandkids, I try to get them for a week or so during the summer. There are many documented benefits to utilizing grandparents to watch grandkids. Among them may be reduced risks of alzheimers ; increased brain power , and lowered possibilities of depression. I’m one of them.

Daughters and sons of very wealthy families sometimes want to disown the family wealth in order to prove themselves. Some grown children move thousands of miles away and change their names in order to avoid the ‘taint’ of the wealth and family name. They may be offering it for their own benefit, more than yours.

For example, if you want to buy slightly used home furnishings, find an upscale neighborhood where the kids are mostly grown. The adults in these neighborhoods typically have more discretionary income and may be prone to re-decorating more often than others. Treasures which the grown kids don’t want or need! My best finds.
