Step 1: Tie your shirt up using whatever method you prefer. I did a very simple knot technique, but next time I will be trying some of the fancier techniques

.

Step 2: Fill a big bowl with warm water and a quarter size amount of benzoyl peroxide-based face cleanser. I used Clean and Clear, but anything should work. Mix well.

Step 3: Immerse t-shirt into water and let soak for thirty minutes.

Step 4: For the truly authentic, summertime tradition of tie-dye, let the shirt dry in the summer sun. Or if you are super impatient like me, throw it in a super hot dryer till dry.

What is the Weekend Unplug:

On the weekends, my usual routine is to completely unplug from the computer and mobile devices.

The reason? Because one day the computer will be off but the kids will not want to play Hot Wheels or do crafts and that day will be sad. They will be too big for piggy back rides and have no time for picnics and naps on a blanket in the front yard.

Think back to your childhood. You remember the games you played with your parents.   You remember when they created cheap and free entertainment in your yard.

Now you can do that for your kids.

While I know deals are important and saving money is too, I don't want you to look back over your child's life and think about all the money you saved.  I want you to remember all the fun times you had because you were frugal enough financially to enjoy time and activities with your kids, stress free.

That's why I started this blog.  To save money on things that don't matter so we could enjoy the things and people who do.
