Plastic Easter eggs from a helicopter onto the Thompson High School football field on April 7 in preparation for Easter Sunday the next day.
Cultivate Church, which began meeting in the Alabaster home of Brandon and Jennifer Matthews last summer, will host the free event from 10 a.m.-noon at Larry Simmons Stadium off Thompson Road.
During the event, church officials will scatter eggs across the football field before dropping thousands more from a helicopter hovering over the stadium, Brandon Matthews said. In total, the event will involve about 20,000 plastic eggs.

Sunshine Manor, located just off Valleydale Road, will host an intergenerational Easter egg hunt for children and seniors April 6 starting at 2 p.m.
Event organizer Martin Briggs said the Easter egg hunt will help seniors at the facility, most of whom suffer from dementia, brain trauma, Alzheimer’s or other memory issues. Having children around brings out the best in the seniors, he said.

EASTER EGG DROP APRIL 7
10 A.M. TO 1 P.M. VETERAN'S PARK VALLEYDALE ROAD
Christian Life Church is partnering with Inverness Vineyard Church and Christ City Church this Easter to share the love of God through a huge Easter Egg Drop. Thousands of candy-filled eggs will be dropped from a helicopter at Veterans Park on Valleydale Road. There will be inflatables, worship bands, stage games, prizes, and the presentation of the Gospel. Mark your calendars now and watch our website for more information.
Each church is also responsible for collecting at least 5000 plastic eggs filled with pre-packaged candy. All eggs needs to be sealed with scotch tape to ensure safe delivery from the air! We need everyone to help us reach that goal.
