I would love to hear from you. You don't have to be super detailed, but I would love to hear how you're saving money on the weekends.
Weekends are usually a quick way to drop a lot of money then we may suffer in the week.
If we keep it in check, the week is easier. Am I right?
OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKENDS WE ARE TRYING TO SAVE MONEY FOR A TRIP WE PLAN TO TAKE SOON -- SO THERE'S NOT A LOT OF MONEY BEING SPENT ON MAJOR ENTERTAINMENT ETC.
Here's how my weekend spending went:
Saturday - Breakfast was cereal and waffles for a few of us and eggs for the adults.
We stayed home to do some gardening and house projects. Trying to get ready for a yard sale and consignment sale.
Played with the kids and swam some.
Lunch was light -- it was so hot no one was hungry.
Afternoon -- I ran down to Winn Dixie to get a few things and rented a Redbox. The code I had didn't work so I paid $1.25 to watch Red Tails. Good movie.
Total at Winn Dixie before coupons and reward card $63. Total after - $20.13.
Saturday night for dinner cooked left overs.
I had leftover corn on the cob, bread, hot dogs and barbecue chicken + new potatoes grown in a trash bin (clean)
Grilled everything and it was tasty.
Made grilled smashed potatoes. Covered the skins in salt and butter before I roasted them on the grill. They cooked super quick and the skins were nice and crispy -- like a potato skin. I'll do that again for sure.
Dinner -- no cost.
Total out of pocket for Saturday -- $21.38.
SUNDAY --
No expenditures all day until we had to run an errand later that evening and stopped by a new Mexican restaurant we had never been too.
We spent $33 for a family of five including tip.
I did pick up a second movie -- after returning Red Tails (which was good)
Picked up Journey 2 Mysterious Island. It was good.
$1.25.
TOTAL OOP for the weekend: $55.63
