BREAKFAST: Freezer French Toast w/ bananas x2 Yogurt and fruit & Cream of Wheat Smoothies x2-3 Steel-cut oats w/ applesauce and cinnamon x2 SNACKS: Veggies: Cucumbers, Carrots, Cabbage, Spinach, Kale, Cabbage, Broccoli, Fruit: Grapes, Bananas, Strawberries, Tomatoes Applesauce Jell-o Cheese

How To Give School Lunches Good Grades
T he school year is new, but early grades for brown bag lunches have not been promising in my home. It's a challenge to assemble lunches that are nutritious, tasty and frugal. Packaging counts, and attractive food containers can upgrade the taste, texture and freshness of school lunches. For example, servings of leftover lasagna recently failed the lunchroom test. The pasta tasted great, but looked unappealing in a small sandwich bag, the kids said.

Menu Plan Monday
This week's Menu Plan is shorter than usual. Now the weather is great for it and I picked up 6 different packs of Oscar Mayer and Sarah Lee deli sliced lunch meat (for under $6.00!!) for my husband's lunches and also for the kids. Tags: Menu Plan Monda We ate at a friend's barbeque Saturday and then at a birthday party Saturday night and my husband will be out of town at least one night this week so I only have 5 dinners to share. Menu Plan Monday
As much as I like to have a list/schedule/plan-of-action for things, I also like a little spontaneity. make a menu not only to make it easier for me when dinner time comes around each day, but also because by planning it out, I save a lot of money - I use what's on sale/in season, use my coupons, and I don't impulse shop. lot of people plan this into their menu. It's not always the best for our budget, but it keeps things from getting too boring and it keeps us sane. Friday night we had Pizza Hut pizza. *gasp!*
