This past winter I cleaned out closets and drawers in my quest to minimize and downsize our stuff and donated everything to the thrift store, rather than hold on to it for the spring sale. Oh well, I thought–I can sleep in that weekend. March 2021 – I found $747. My husband had other ideas.

I tend to focus on certain brands that I really like and that fit me well. While I like to shop at thrift stores, I have a hard time finding TALL length jeans for my 5’10 frame and I was in need of new jeans. I won’t need to buy jeans for a few years. $20 Yes, please! Awesome, the new price will be $19.99

I’m constantly trying to optimize our spending to find ways to save money, but still live quite comfortably and well. In April, we saved quite a bit of money by comparison shopping, and choosing thrift first. Our 17 year old Kenmore washing machine stopped spinning the end of March. April’s Thrift Store Finds.

Spending our precious and all too limited time searching online and in stores. Sometimes, as we shop we see things we would like to own and decide to treat ourselves with a gift or two as well. So, hey, I guess I can take the tax reduction next year as well as this! ABC News recommended waiting until February or March to buy.

Life, as we knew it came to a halt for so many of us in mid-March, and life going forward will forever be known as pre-pandemic or post-pandemic. Our small business was going well, so we said so long to renting office space and purchased a commercial property in the summer of 2012. March 2020 arrived. Everything changed.

Be willing to sacrifice- there are things we had to do that made us look weird: home school, skip eating out as much with family, doing my own hair & nails, getting a wardrobe from the thrift store and forgoing paper towels. I had a client engagement in Las Vegas in March 2014. If married, who initiated the debt free goal?

I live in the Midwest with my fiancé (soon to be husband in March!), My wedding dress, thrifted! etc” Well, I never wanted to be a race driver. It’s not hard for me (anymore) to avoid expensive stores or fast fashion sites such as Shein and Temu, and instead shop at thrift stores or use my local BuyNothing group.
