…but in my email from Amazon, it says we CAN share, Who knows?
Jen Saylor says
FYI – Amazon Mom members are NOT elligible to share their Prime Benefits. I think I will have my husband subscribe to Prime, and share it with me. Unless this means that he can’t share his with me (as an Amazon Mom) either. Sheesh.
This is from the Prime Membership Terms:
If you sign up for a free trial or paid Prime membership, you may invite up to four eligible household members (living at the same address) to enjoy the shipping benefits of your free trial or paid Prime membership at no extra cost (invitees). Amazon Student and Amazon Mom members are not eligible to share their Prime benefits.

I totally agree with the guy who said making people pay for an inferior discount is what really ticked me off. This really should have been made into a bigger story the way it was when netflix did something similiar.
Christina Cole says
I’m bummed about this change too and it seems pretty sneaky. What I don’t understand is why they are tying this to a Prime membership but you can’t use the Prime on Subscribe and Save purchases anyway! There are other options ladies!!! For instance, at Drugstore.com the Luvs I buy are $37.99 for the big pack ($30.29 with discounts at Amazon right now). Drugstore.com offers 5% cash back on their purchases plus if you shop through Ebates you get 6% cash back. The bonus is that often times that is doubled to 12%! They have free shipping on orders over $25 or if you have a ShopRunner membership, it’s free 2-day. There are other online stores offering diaper incentives, you just have to look for them!
Kristina says
I am disappointed. I am on my mom’s Amazon Prime after my free year expired in December and I still got the email to join Prime or lose my Mom benefits, so I’m guessing the Prime membership doesn’t count unless you are the primary member. I contacted them to find out if that is the case. I guess I will be getting my diapers/wipes/etc at wholesale clubs with coupons again. Just like they made a choice, so will I, bye bye Amazon :)
Amy says
My houshold is a super happy “Prime” family. Worth every penny. I understand people being upset, bit Amazon is well within their rights to make the changes they have, in my opinion. We cloth diaper, so I have Never needed to use Amazon for diapers. The free shipping on tons of items is well worth it for us. Thank you Amazon!!!
Suzanne Stack says
Hate to let amazon go, but really am disappointed in the program now. As a foster mom, all my business went to amazon. Now, I have cancelled all my subscribe and save orders, bye bye amazon!! Your loss!!
Connie says
Boo. Glad we are potty training my son now & I am stocked up in wipes & diapers (size 6). Not going to join Prime because I already joined Costco at $100 a year for their executive membership!!! Now I got to shell out 79$ for Prime, forget it. Too many fees.
Sarah Mulholland Starr via Facebook says
Hm. I thought my email said I still had the shipping benefits I’d earned (my free year ends in March)–although it was unclear whether I’d have to pay for the prime starting January 24 (when the changes occur) or when my shipping benefits expire.
Heather Bunch Williams via Facebook says
I was disapointed that they took AWAY benefits we had earned. Through ordering extra stuff at Christmas, I had a Prime membership through May. Now it’s gone. My Hubby pays for a Prime account so I will just shop from his account from now on I suppose. But I thought it was a pretty big bummer. If you’re going to discontinue a program, at least let those people keep the benefits they earned by following your rules Amazon!
Sarah Mulholland Starr via Facebook says
I wouldn’t mind paying for the Prime. What I DON’T like is that they’re not only making us pay, they’re ALSO dropping the discount to 20% for everyone (my diapers and wipes subscription were grandfathered in at the 30% discount). I hate the idea of paying for a service that is worse than what I’m currently getting for free. Amazon really disappointed me here.
Terika Stoy Hernandez via Facebook says
Amazon has lost me as a customer. I guess Sams Club will get my diaper and wipe business

All these changes can be attributed to the new coupon craze which was started by the Extreme Couponing show. Retailers are taking advantage of the publicity and trying to make more money. You can actually find a better deal at stores for diapers and wipes. For example this week Acme has clearance on wipes and you can get them for .79 after using the .50 coupon that is in this week’s insert. I bought about 30 so far since I get the sunday coupons early in a local paper and some free inserts also. For some people, it is easier to just do amazon.com because they may have full time jobs and chasing deals takes a lot of time.

Just placed my last big order..bye bye Amazon mom
Judy says
I got the email yesterday and was very upset. First of all, it might have been more fair possibly to take away the free shipping rather than taking away the discount. Second, I think they should have given me more notice, although it doesn’t really matter since I don’t plan on joining Amazon Prime – as other comments here already stated, the $79 price of joining is not worth it for what I will receive in return. I am very disasppointed with Amazon – I have told so many others about how impressed I was with them and now they go and do something like this!!
Kevin says
I remember the good old days which ended almost a year ago now when you had all those coupons from Parents, Parenting, Fit Pregnancy, etc for an extra 20% off the 30% Amazon gave you plus you could stack them with a $10 off coupon for amazon diapers. I literally had packages arriving to my house completely for free.
Pauline greer says
mE TOO, IT WAS GREAT , BUT ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END i QUESS, JUST HAVE TO GET ON THEM WHILE THEY LAST.
Marlene Warren via Facebook says

Rachel-Ed Arnold via Facebook says
I did a price check at sam’s :) CHEAPER wipes and the diapers are about the same price. They even had LUVS in there inventory online. Also, it says “Free standard shipping for online orders” I think I will put my cheap membership with them to use :) I guess all good things can’t last…..
Elisa Merrell Richardson via Facebook says
Yes I had a trial amazon prime account for students, I didn’t realize the half off was because I am a student though.

back to buying diapers at BJ’s!

Danielle Jones via Facebook says
Good luck trying to get an extra delivery! They won’t let me!! I’m really pissed at amazon right now!
Amy Andler via Facebook says
This is crazy. Just tried to get an extra delivery of diapers and wipes before the price hike, and it wouldn’t allow me to do so! It is already showing the higher prices on their site!!!!
Kim Wuenschel via Facebook says
@ Elisa – are you a student? I can’t find the 50% off prime, unless you have a .edu email address and sign up for student prime
Jennifer Klinedinst Young via Facebook says
It was nice while it lasted. I didn’t think it would last forever, though. It’s called marketing, people. Everyone does it. I can’t imagine they were making much, if any, money on those deals.
Jennifer Tabor Mackay via Facebook says
Elisa when did you sign up to get the 50% savings? was it recently?
Jennifer Hanks via Facebook says
I have prime already. The amount that I save in shipping covers it easily. Plus with the fee streaming. If I didn’t already have prime I think id be pretty upset.
Elisa Merrell Richardson via Facebook says
I”m a current Amazon Mom as well as on a trial membership for Prime. When I clicked on Join Prime, they offered a 50% savings so I signed up for $39. Even if it was $79 I would have strongly considered it. With the savings from diapers and wipes alone it would have been worth it. Not to mention the savings from all the stuff I ordered through Christmas with free shipping. Throughout the year I’ve found things that were just as cheap or cheaper through Amazon, plus I didn’t have to go to the store or deal with coupons or lines or empty shelves. I’m a huge fan of Amazon, wish that it could remain free, but I wondered when they’d be doing something about all of us ordering things on “subscribe and save” and then cancelling our subscriptions.
Jennifer Jordan via Facebook says
I got the email yesterday. Not happy about this.
Betina Raines Peyton via Facebook says
I checked today to see if I could also get an extra shipment sent (we actually needed them early anyways) and I wasn’t able to change my current subscribe and save order to ship until Feb. Also, when I went to see if I could do a new subscribe and save order, they already have the discount down to 20%. Boo.

Wow…..can’t afford the $79 as hubby is on short-term disability right now til March! Maybe, we can manage to get our last child potty trained before our last pull-ups run out! Amazon is just getting greedy like everyone else and doesn’t realize that moms are their best customers! =)
Melanie Hoppes via Facebook says
just so everyone knows, they are not allowing any new subcriptions OR extra shipments of existing subscriptions until the changes take place. Go to change.org to sign a petition asking them to reverse their decision to change the amazon mom program.
kYLIE says
Yeah, this is a bummer…I was Amazon Mom for a year and then had to upgrade to Amazon Prime (which was totally worth it), but now the discount is only 20% instead of 30% if I understand it right…make a big difference when you buy as many diapers and wipes as I do. :-(
Jenny Mckenzie Gauthier via Facebook says
It is a bummer , i have been an amazon mom for awhile , amazon Mom for awhile but recently it ran out as my kiddo is no longer needed most of the mom items . I happily pay the 79.00 . We constantly order from Amazon . Amazing the things I find cheaper than at the stores even without coupons as we don’t have doubling in my area .
I love the two day shipping . We take full advantage of the steaming movie etc . My hubby bought a huge saw and only paid 3.99 for one day shipping , it came via Freight truck , that alone made the membership worth it . Happy prime member !
Kara Scible Pereira via Facebook says
I may need to have an extra shipment sent prior to the 24th :( Thanks for sharing about the Prime “sharing” option, though. Looking at that route.
Karen Weyna says
They turned off the “Extra Delivery” feature on all of my Subscribe and Save diapers and wipes… Insult to injury!
Christy Proudfit says
Yes, but you can still get 20%. I just bought 4 cases of luvs 5 for $30.39 @ the 20% tonight. I just placed a new order. That gives me diapers for a year and it is still cheaper @ 20% than any where else.
Karen Weyna says
Yes, but I still have two weeks left in my year long Prime membership, and I hoped to get another case in at the 30% off rate before that ended.
We were planning on joining the paid Prime membership once the complimentary year ended. However, I feel like Amazon is pulling a fast one here on parents and caregivers, and it is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. At 20% off, I am not saving much more than at a warehouse club, and I don’t feel like the other benefits of Prime would make up for the annual fee.
nene says
Yesterday, I selected the extra shipment option for my diapers and wipes that are still 30% off, and the message “This subscription is not eligible for extra shipment” popped up. So don’t be surprised if you get the same message.
Melissa Raab via Facebook says
Very sad! I just picked up 120 size 5 Huggies for $25, I think I may need to order another! :(
Kara says
Kinda mad that Amazon is doing this. It’s basically forcing me to join Amazon Prime to continue receiving the benefits I’ve received all along. The price of joining Prime would negate most of the savings I get from the Subscribe and Save option. Especially since my daughter will be potty trained soon, it’s not worth it to me to join Prime. Hoping that my FIL is still a Prime member and can “share” his membership with me.
Kim Wuenschel via Facebook says
I’m hoping that if we all vote wwith our lack of purchasing, that Amazon will hopfully notice and bring back the deals, prices & coupons they had from August ’10-March ’11.
Bonnie Cramer Stone via Facebook says
I’m upset too. We’ve been considering joining Prime for the Kindle and streaming benefits but I hate that they are making these changes. Just when they get people hooked!
Connie Smith Greene via Facebook says
got that email this morning
Michelle Manow via Facebook says
dislike :(
Kim Wuenschel via Facebook says
Boo! Am I the only one sad to see Amazon going this route?? i won’t pay for prime. And losing the additional 15% off because I refuse to give them $79 stinks. But it’s not worth $79 to save $ on diapers when I can save at drugstores without paying $79 to them first. I have been a HUGE amazon fan over the last year – I’ve sent countless friends to join amazonmoms. But I will be shopping elsewhere come January 24th.
Karen Weyna says
Agreed! So disappointing. I don’t understand why the normal 15% subscribe and save discount will no longer be applied to diapers and wipes. I feel like they are purposely targeting people with babies to forcibly entice them to join Prime.
