Organization Hacks For Busy Moms
Being a mother for me means knowing how to fix things or how to do things, that most of the time I don’t know how to do or make things that I have never heard of. But I am profoundly grateful for my life.
I’m a schedule kind of person, so I know being organized makes me less stressed, more patient, helps me make better decisions, and enjoy the little me-time I get.
Life will happen, always someone or something comes in the way of my schedule, but I’m ready for it.
My learning is that the first step in getting organized is deciding which areas of your life need organization. Ask yourself, are you on schedule for appointments? Do you have a morning and evening routine that ensures all tasks finish smoothly or do you end up getting stressed over them?
Here are a few simple tips:
Plan your menu for the week – The best part about knowing what you will cook for a week is no unplanned grocery trips as you will know what your meals will look like and what you need to buy. This will save you a lot of time and money while grocery shopping. Have a list of trusted recipes and keep at least one protein/meatless option per day. Over time you will figure out quiches are best made on weekends rather than weekdays. Here are some free menu planning printables.
Morning routines – Make your bed, drink some water, check your daily to-do list, program the coffeemaker, pre-pack lunches, Have pre-portions sides and snacks ready to grab in the pantry or refrigerator. Establishing a morning routine might seem like a lot of work, but it will set you up for the beautiful day ahead. Here are some free morning routine printables for kids and adults.
Spend Five Minutes Putting Common Areas To Order the Night Before – Tidy the kitchen counter and living room, put away laundry, put all the dishes and start the dishwasher, Keep things ready for next morning. The best part of doing this cleaning before bed is you start your morning with peacefulness and a happy state of mind. More on this in a separate post.
Have one calendar for Personal Appointment – Choose a calendar you can customize and use color-coding to assign a specific color to a particular task or event.
Do Time-Consuming Chores Little by Little – Household chores are tedious and time-consuming, but they must be done. Take an old cardboard box and spend 10 minutes every day walking around the house, removing all the clutter that you don’t require anymore. Get Through The Mid-Week Slump By Starting a Mid-Week Tradition – It is a pause button, to reenergize and to celebrate what you’ve accomplished so far.
