Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus typically walks its animals from the train to the venue in each city its visits.  Ringling Bros. has three circus units that tour throughout the United States and each unit has a herd unique to its tour.

The safety of our animals and the ability for those animals and their handlers to comfortably and most expeditiously reach the venue is our top priority. This year Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Presents DRAGONS has young elephants who are adjusting to their current tour environment. We feel that it is in their best interest to transport those elephants along with the rest of the herd to the BJCC Arena in custom elephant trailers as they are still acclimating themselves with walking from the train to the arenas.

Residents of Birmingham will have the opportunity to see all the animals including our treasured Asian elephants starting Wednesday, January 25 at 7:30pm when The Greatest Show On Earth opens at BJCC Arena.
