Spring Cleaning....Is There Money to Be Made?
do this same process with the dresser drawers as well. continue this process into my kids rooms. As we move forward the hands of the clock this weekend, I am reminded that indeed spring is right around the corner. And that means spring cleaning is too. As much as I despise housework, I know a thorough cleaning is long over do. The question now

Parenting Pointers: Postnatal Splurge
She wants to help women feel better after the birth process. “We Go Home Gorgeous services provide a healthy, responsible gift idea that feels good give as well as receive.” I know I typically write about saving money, not luxury splurges. However, I was asked to highlight Go Home Gorgeous , "luxury postpartum care and sleep relief."

Easy, Frugal Cooking |Chicken Tacos
Put all of that into a food processor (a blender would probably work as well), and pulse until it’s all finely chopped.
With the machine running, add 1/4 cup vegetable oil and process until the mixture is fairly smooth.
Process until smooth.
A couple of months ago, I decided that I wanted to learn how to make Chicken Tacos. I poked through Cook’s Illustrated’s website and found nothing (only a steak taco recipe), so I decided to search some other online cooking sites.

Homemade Chai Tea Mix Recipe
You could use the tea mix this way, but it won’t dissolve all that well, and it does look kind of funky.
So, in two batches, process the mixture in your food processor until it’s smooth and fine. Working with about half the mixture at a time, process in a food processor until fine and smooth. If you follow me on Twitter , you know that ever since our vacation, I’ve been trying to figure out how to make Chai tea at home. I’m still busy experimenting, but the following recipe is what I’ve been using for the moment.

How To Make Homemade Yogurt
The only trash (which should be recyclable) produced in this process comes from the original milk carton. Since the milk usually develops some skin at some point during the heating process, I like to strain my it through a small wire mesh strainer while I’m pouring it into the jars.
Stir well to ensure that the starter is thoroughly incorporated into the milk.
Those of you who’ve been reading here for a while will recognize the bones of today’s post. When I first posted it here, I used some old pictures from my original food-waste blog.

How to Paint Wooden Furniture
Mix the paint well, using a paint stick(these are free at the paint section of most hardware stores). Repeat this process until the furniture is painted to your satisfaction.
That’s the extent of my painting wisdom…in a nutshell, if you sand thoroughly, clean the dust off well, prime with several thin coats, and paint with several thin coats, you should be able to turn out a piece of furniture with a smooth, durable finish. I know-this post has been a long time coming! After my many posts about my painted freecycle furniture, lots of you asked for a tutorial

Lentil Walnut Burgers: Your frugal vegetarian alternative
love veggie burgers but like all processed foods, they are expensive. I’d love it if I could empty my home of anything processed and rely only on wholesome basics.
These burgers are incredibly healthy, packed with protein as well as fiber, and you are free to up the vegetable content by adding any variety of toppings and side dishes.
For the last several weeks the meals I have cooked for myself have mostly consisted of sandwiches and spaghetti with sauce from a can. Being Being busy is one reason for my culinary lapse, and frankly I’m proud of having (mostly)

Wednesday Baking-Thin Crust Pizza
The dough is made in the food processor and then kneaded just briefly by hand, so all you people out there with kneading phobias can probably still handle this recipe. Incidentally, you will need a pizza stone, pizza peel, and parchment paper to make this recipe(well, I suppose you could do without the pizza peel and the parchment, but the pizza stone is non-negotiable!).
Add the water, and process until the ingredients are all combined.
This is yet another recipe borrowed from Cook’s Illustrated. I found it in the big baking book they published(I got it for my
