This update was added to the Brita Facebook page around 2 am. Looks like they decided to honor the rebates!
If you did the Brita deal, you may want to take a look at the Brita facebook page. If you did any of these deals here and here or here.
It looks like they are no longer going to honor the Brita Rebates? They say the rebate supplies have been exhausted. I am not quite sure what that means? Do you know? I would definitely file a complaint if you have a rebate to send in or RETURN your Brita.
Thoughts?
Thanks, Amanda

The amazing power of couponers combined with fabulous sites like this … can move mountains, or at least corporate America.

Yea!! I have had mine stamped and ready to go for days. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do: send it in or return it. Glad to know I can send it in!

Oh good. I have to send mine in before they change their minds again!

I just cannot comprehend the stupidity of some executives. They couldn’t aggrivate customers more if that was their goal. They should be happy they sold so many pitchers. They may not have made a ton on the pitchers themselves, but the filters cost a small fortune! I know I just bought a couple years supply by stocking up at with the stacked coupons at Target. I am glad they decided to honor it (I mailed mine Tuesday), but I am sure they probably still lost some business from this stunt. Unbelievable.

Not honoring the rebates will generate a lot of new customers (for Pur that is… )
So they posted the update at 2AM? I guess they realize that move was too stupid to wait till morning and undo it… oh well… I hope they learn to stick the rebate forms INSIDE the product… ( not outside where people will peel all of the forms and sell on ebay).

Guess they didn’t run out of sources after all

Brita will be honoring these. Here is the post…Hi Brita fans! Great news to report: We will be honoring all the mail-in rebates that were recently available! We apologize for all the inconvenience this caused. Thanks for you patience and sticking with Brita. Enjoy your rebates!

I think many companies have yet to realize the level we have reached in the information age of Social Media. Im sure companies have been doing this type of thing for years, but now its really coming back to bite them because at one point they could easily say “Well its limited to a few” and nobody would be the wiser.
Asimina Kaminis Souders via Facebook says
I. Was actually thinking about doing this deal today! For my mom! Oh well!
Rachel says
I was going to do this but my Walmart didn’t have any left. I guess it ended up being a good thing for me. That stinks for all of the people who now won’t be able to get a rebate.
Michelle says
Just bought mine today, guess I have to return it now.
I think they are just mad there are people in the world smarter than them. Charging $24 retail for the pitcher is ridiculous to begin with, it is only plastic!

You would think these companies would know better than to do something stupid like this, especially on social media sites like Facebook. The retaliation would can be enormous and really bad PR for the company – and not the kind of bad PR that’s actually good PR lol. My fiancee sent hers in a week ago or so, so we should be good.

I received mine last week, but I mailed it back in November.

Ugh not cool! I sent mine in a few days ago! I got the faucet mount though because ours broke so I wasn’t making any money off of it. But i was excited at the thought of only paying $10 for it!

I just sent mine in Tuesday. I know they have not received it yet, but wonder if it will still be honored. I just sent them a message about it on their website. If I get a response I will let you know in case anyone else has one enroute right now.
Lindsay in PA says
They probably did not anticipate that many people sending in for the rebate. I bet they ran out of the funds $ that they allocated for the rebates. oh well.
Rachel E. says
Wondering if the complaints crashed their website? I can’t even get to the site to complain!

Brita is a company trying to make it in a tough economy (just like everyone else). If they are not able to give refunds, lets show mercy and compassion like Christ would have us do, and just be thankful they issue high value coupons to buy their products.
Ashley says
They’re a company – they’re in business to make money. All businesses are – and that’s fine, but they don’t deeply, deeply care about you as a person. So let’s not get all holy and forgive them when they basically are using a bait-and-switch tactic.
Kristin M says
Ashley, wish I could “love” your reply!
Emily says
I loved Ashley’s reply… they are a company at the end of the day and I don’t feel all that bad for them… I’m not going to become irrate over the situation, but seriously, don’t offer something if you don’t intent to honor it.
Melissa says
If showing mercy is getting all “holy” then more of us should be getting holy. I see too many people wasting their time & energy getting mad about all the freebies they missed when a FB site can’t handle the traffic, coupons are out of prints too fast, rebates run out of offers, etc. LIFE IS TOO SHORT.

Wow! I guess I should be glad that they pitchers were out of stock at CVS and I hadn’t picked one up at Walmart yet.
