WIS, WWA | Black Friday

The Frugal Girl

So typically, the only brick-and-mortar store I go to the day after Thanksgiving is a grocery store. Grocery stores are wonderfully empty right after Thanksgiving! I kind of hate Black Friday because I dislike crowds and limited-quantity offers. Every day, even Black Friday, is Commit Cat Crimes Day for Chiquita.

Five Frugal Things | also, I PASSED

The Frugal Girl

I went to the Vans store, and could not find a pair exactly like mine; all the offerings had suede on the toe area, and I did not love that. Luckily, the guy who works at the store told me that my particular style is still sold at Kohl’s. AND the Kohl’s variety was about half the price of the basic style at the Vans store.

I like my crackers to come from the store, please and thank you Anyone who has made crackers can tell you that they are a lot of work for not much reward. The homemade crackers, though? I disposed of that idea after giving it multiple tries. Tedious is an appropriate descriptor!

WIS, WWA | that was disappointing!

The Frugal Girl

I spent: $48 at Aldi $17 at the Hispanic grocery store $26 at Noodles and Co. What I Spent I cut open an avocado earlier in the week, and it was just perfect. But the next one I cut open? SO disappointing. So much pit. But hey, at least the edible part was still perfectly ripe.

WIS, WWA | on the first longer day!

The Frugal Girl

Friday My fridge is a little bare but man, I hate going to the grocery store prior to a holiday. Thursday I was out mid-afternoon with Sonia for a Christmas tea outing, so I wasn’t hungry for dinner (too many scones and tea sandwiches in my belly!), and Zoe was at a friend’s birthday party. So I may go freezer spelunking again.

Five Frugal Things | What color will this chair be?

The Frugal Girl

Anyway…I needed some litter and food for Shelley and Chiquita, and Chewy’s prices for those beat the brick and mortar stores around here. I always appreciate when stores mark down damaged goods instead of just throwing them away, and I want to support the effort! In fact, it looks like the last time was October 2021.
