I got an annual symphony pass So, after my little $10 symphony evening the other week, it occurred to me that other nearby city symphonies might also have a student program. Another city offers a student deal where you pay $35 and then you can go to basically as many concerts as you want over the next year for $0.

Five Frugal Things | symphony for $10? Yes, please.

I got a $77 ticket for $10 I learned that the symphony here offers student tickets for $10, which is a crazy good deal. I just had to email over a picture of my student ID and poof! Last Friday, Zoe was working and I had no plans, so I called the office and asked if they had some seats for that night’s concert.

for the opportunity to care for patients Last weekend was my first time doing real, on-site clinicals, and I felt thankful that there are people who are willing to let extremely green nursing students practice on them, waiting patiently while we bumble through our first efforts. But I’m the one who feels thankful!

And then in a class meeting that evening, the professor in charge of the first semester told us that students who barely squeak by in the first semester start to really struggle in subsequent semesters. By the way, the other day, we were having a discussion here in the comments about whether it’s important to aim super high in class.

Competency Day Miscellany

But, it’s my first time doing competency testing, and usually, 50% of students end up getting called back for a 2nd chance try on something. Simple Nursing with Nurse Mike is helpful, and if you don’t mind a strong southern accent, Registered Nurse RN is good (her accent is polarizing among nursing students, I’m finding!)
