Evan came home from school yesterday and told me he didn’t feel well. Ah, the dreaded first cold of the season! He said 1/3 of his class missed school. Evan hasn’t missed much school over the years. He tends to stay healthy for the most part. We quickly talked about how he can prevent spreading germs and picking up germs. We created his “Cold Prevention Kit” for his classroom with our Total Home Products.
If you are preparing for cold and flu season, check out Total Home products to get high quality products at 15%-20% off national brands prices. Total Home Products are available exclusively at CVS! Be sure you get #TotallyCovered for the upcoming cold & flu season.
Cold & Flu Prevention Tips
Wash Your Hands
- This is the most basic thing you can do to prevent spreading germs. Pick up antibacterial soap and wash frequently!
Cover Your Cough and Sneezes with Tissues (not your hand)
- You might be tempted to sneeze into your hand, but use your Total Home tissues instead.
Discard Used Tissues Immediately
- Don’t leave your tissues laying around allowing germs to be spread. Keep Total Home trash bags handy to dispose your tissues.
Take Your Vitamins
- Don’t forget to eat healthy and take your vitamins!
Use disposable items if someone in your family is ill.
- Total Home Disposable Cups can be thrown away and prevent the spreading of germs. {Especially if you have little ones who like to take a drink out of Mom’s cup.}
Keep all your household surfaces cleaned and sanitized.
- Door knobs, drawer pulls, keyboards, light switches, telephones, remote controls, countertops, and sinks can all hang on to viruses for hours. Wipe these surfaces frequently with Total Home Disinfectant Wipes or Hard Surface Bleach Cleaner.
Use Paper Towels for Hand Washing
- Use paper towels in the kitchen and bathroom for hand washing. Germs can live for several hours on cloth towels. Alternatively, have separate towels for each family member and provide a clean one for guests.

Thank you for your opinion, however, Total Home doesn’t even make an antibacterial soap.
