I fixed Zoe’s red sweatshirt She works at Target, so she either has to wear a red Target vest or a red shirt, and I’m proud to say that she has thrifted a bunch of her red tops. I will say, GenZ is not afraid to thrift, and I love that! I found some red thread in my sewing box. And then I set up my sewing machine.

I fixed a thrifted hoodie This thrifted Vans hoodie sprouted a hole but mercifully, it was right on the side seam! But I figure I will just use this one until it wears out, and then I will buy a lunchbox that is exactly what I want. Not gonna lie, I did look at new lunchboxes when I was at Target last.

We fixed Zoe’s skirt with scissors She’d thrifted this checked skirt, which had a sort of odd belt thing at the bottom. The buckle was very poorly-designed and would not ever stay in place (which is probably why this skirt ended up at the thrift store in the first place!)

If you’re patient, you can find cheap things that coordinate If you are a stickler for matching, it’s going to be nigh onto impossible to use thrift stores and Buy Nothing groups to find things that were meant to go together. For instance, I have a fair number of white serving dishes that I’ve gotten at thrift stores.

I tried a thrift store first, but came up dry. I tried them on, but I was definitely skinnier in 2012 than I am now because I could barely button these pants, even standing up. God forbid I sit down in them! I don’t get dressed up very often, so my current pants are basically just jeans, leggings, and scrub pants. Then I went to T.J.

For example, we’re very accustomed to buying anything we can second-hand at thrift stores, Craigslist, or Facebook Marketplace. I think the easiest part is things that are habitual so I no longer need to use will-power to resist the temptation. We’ve saved so much money over the years shopping that way.

My wedding dress, thrifted! It’s not hard for me (anymore) to avoid expensive stores or fast fashion sites such as Shein and Temu, and instead shop at thrift stores or use my local BuyNothing group. I live in the Midwest with my fiancé (soon to be husband in March!), I mostly work remotely which is very, very nice.
