Five Frugal Things | bare minimum haircut

Hopefully the new one I ordered will serve me well for a while. We fixed Zoe’s skirt with scissors She’d thrifted this checked skirt, which had a sort of odd belt thing at the bottom. I did see that there’s a very highly rated type of eye mask for this problem, but the masks are disposable!

Want to save money? Let go of the need for matching

The Frugal Girl

I was a teenager in the 90s, and while this may be true of other eras as well, I remember there being a LOT of matching sets, particularly when it came to home decor. Well…MY SWEATER HAS DUCKS ON IT. For instance, I have a fair number of white serving dishes that I’ve gotten at thrift stores. How 90s is this photo?

As well as other “from scratch” things like my current main hobby of teaching myself how to spin yarn from our sheeps’ wool. Although we had to invest in machines like a plucker and scalder for butchering chickens, as well as the animals and their shelters, eventually our home-raised meat will be basically free.

I believe these bulbs are the original pair from when I got my van, so I figure that if one is burnt out, the other one is on its last leg as well. I tried a thrift store first, but came up dry. I went to Advance Auto Parts and bought a two-pack of the appropriate bulbs. It’s not like I use one light bulb more than the other. ?

My wedding dress, thrifted! etc” Well, I never wanted to be a race driver. It’s not hard for me (anymore) to avoid expensive stores or fast fashion sites such as Shein and Temu, and instead shop at thrift stores or use my local BuyNothing group. I live in the Midwest with my fiancé (soon to be husband in March!),

Five Frugal Things | So, my tire had a hole

The Frugal Girl

I fixed Zoe’s skirt She’d thrifted this long skirt (so 90s!) The fabric split above the slit as well, so it was sort of a mess. The shape of a sock is particularly nice for when you need a heating pad around your neck! but the first time she wore it, it split by the slit.

Multi-pronged answer here: historically it was hard-wired in my DNA as a necessity but also being a good steward of what we’re blessed with & being able to give/help others; having enough for emergency funds was always a high priority as well. Basically, I’m not tempted by anything over $50 that’s not a necessity😊 9.
