Thrifty Living: Turn old beach ball into a tote via Trash Backwards

of my favorite sites as I've mentioned in the past, posted a fun project this afternoon featuring a beach ball.

In theory you could purchase a beach ball from the Dollar Tree and try it if you don't have an old ball laying around.

HERE ARE THE FIRST 4 STEPS --

STEP 1: Get out the scissors, some scrap rope, and a sewing kit.

STEP 2: Cut the ball with an opening the size you’d like for your beach or pool goodies. Leave room for a hem and stitching. (I don’t have a sewing machine)

STEP 3: Turn the ball inside out, fold down a 1″ hem and stitch the ball. Use a straight stitch or your sewing machine if you’re so inclined. But a 6-year-old can enjoy the task, too. You need room for a rope or string to be threaded as a cinch-tie. Leave a 1″ hole in the side for the rope to thread through.

STEP 4: Thread the rope through using a large safety pin as your thread-head.
