There have been some rumblings about a coupon policy change at Rite Aid. There is NO real policy change when it comes to BOGO sales/BOGO coupons.
After speaking with Rite Aid, the policy is not meant to say you are not allowed to use a second coupon with a Buy One, Get One 50% off sale. Rite Aid was just attempting to clear up a confusing part of their policy. I am not sure they accomplished this – but hopefully they will clear some things up for us.
So, here is your scenario:
This scenario would be correct:
Buy (1) Tide $10.00
Buy (1) Tide 50% off $5.00
use (2) $1.00/1 Tide Coupon
Pay $13.00 for both
You may not use a BOGO coupon with a Buy One, Get one 50% off Sale
This scenario would be incorrect:
Buy (1) Trident Gum $1.00
Buy (1) Trident Gum $.50
use BOGO Free Coupon
I should have some official verbiage from Rite Aid on Monday. I just wanted to address this issue. If you have any questions, comments – leave them in the comments..

Someone told me on my blog when they called, THEY were told the opposite, and they were told you couldn’t even stack a RA coupon with a cents off on the one you were buying full price. RA needs to get their act together.
Shannon says
Yeah Jennifer, I am sure they spoke to Customer Service — who has a different answer every week :)

Let me know what you find out. This drastically alters my shopping plans. lol :)

I used to love Rite Aid and even drove farther to get to a coupon friendly place but they changed the coupons policy too many times so I am just back to CVS. I know that the company is having financial trouble but it is getting to be too much work to keep up. I have been once since last summer and the manager remembered me and asked where I had been. Didn’t have the heart to tell him that I was shopping at CVS instead :( Hope they get someone to write this once and for all and decide what they want so that everyone can get on board.

If that’s really what’s being said, then realistically there isn’t a change at all. When rite aid runs BOGO half sales the first item will always ring at the regular retail price and never a sale price. So if you want to use a BOGO free coupon simply wait for the following week when the item is no longer on sale.

So annoyed about their nitpicking with the coupon policy. I mean really? It feels as if they are TRYING to get rid of us loyal couponers. Are they really saving that much money by excluding this coupon with that deal? Rite Aid used to be my favorite store, and I went there religously every Sunday. Now it is just whenever I can get a really good deal. Stupid “Extreme Couponing” show….
Janet says
Sorry but this is getting absurd!
Dawn says
Yeah, it’s okay. I didn’t mean anything towards you. I think it’s funny that it so clearly states that but that’s not what they meant! :) LOL

Dawn Corts Mikkelsen – I spoke directly with the PR contact, who will have out some official information. I cannot speak for Rite Aid, I am just relaying what I was told today when I had a call. He said he would have some more information to me tomorrow or monday..
Jeremy says
haha, sorry I have 3 cvs within 10 min of me and 2 rite aids
Dawn says
It CLEARLY states in the new policy that you can NOT use two coupons on a Buy 1, Get 1 50% off offer, but that wasn’t their intention? I really don’t get it. Then why did they write that so clearly if that wasn’t what they meant? :) Holy cow…what a mess!
Amanda says
