We planned our purchase in the heady days just prior to the recession of 2008/2009. We remain diversified in our portfolio and the property has regained it’s value from the ‘great recession’ downturn. We planned to rent out the property and thought it would rent quite a few days of the year. Gather the family.

Are we on our way to an actual depression (as opposed to the Great Recession)? If you want to read up on that stuff, plenty of it was written in 2008 and 2009. Write a book about our experiences during the Great Recession and this aftermath of it and offer it for sale. Am I just weird or do some of you also react that way?

Unfortunately the recession of 2008 was not an isolated incident. Let’s just flash back to six years ago to the burst of the housing bubble, massive unemployment, and the tumble of the stock market to crush this assumption. Fluctuations and devaluations have happened before and they’ll undoubtedly happen again.
