Sales tax holiday weekends are happening soon.

ALABAMA

The sales tax holiday weekend for Alabama is fast approaching. Dates are 12:01 a.m. Friday Aug. 3 through midnight Sunday Aug. 5, 2012.

Jefferson County will not be participating but cities in JeffCo will which means you will still pay 2% sales tax on exempt items.

Sales Tax Holiday Aug. 3 - 5, 2012
Legislation was passed (Chapter 2012-32, Section 22, Laws of Florida) to create a 3-day sales tax holiday that will begin at 12:01 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2012, and end at midnight Sunday, August 5, 2012. During this period, no Florida sales tax or local option tax will be collected on sales of clothing, footwear, and certain accessories selling for $75 or less per item, or on certain school supplies selling for $15 or less per item.

MISSISSIPPI --

Missisippi's Sales Tax holiday will be this weekend.

The annual Sales Tax Holiday begins 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012, and ends 12:00 midnight Saturday, July 28, 2012. Go here to review the  listing of eligible and non-eligible clothing and footwear items.
