Music Minute - David Morris: Proud of You

Genre bending Country artist and rapper David Morris continues to breathe honesty into his latest releases, bringing fans everywhere the soundtrack of celebration with “Proud of You.” Co-written by Morris and Brandon Manley, “Proud of You” sonically blends trap style beats with more traditional slide guitars, tied together with lyrics praising the virtues of hard work and the heart-swelling feelings we all share when it's been recognized and supported.

“Proud of You” perfectly complements the annual graduation season nationwide. Morris, who Holler labeled as “wildly inventive but quietly focused,” understands wins are better celebrated when surrounded by your biggest support system, shining a light on the universally relatable subject of celebrating accomplishments.

“Proud of You” follows Morris' most recent release, the heart-wrenching track, “Jenny's Song,” which chronicles a single mom's struggles with addiction. Morris continues to carve a lane for himself, celebrating the ability to bend genres while staying true to his artistry. Whether he's rapping a verse of a Country twang or creating an interpolation of a classic like George Strait's “Carrying Your Love With Me,” Morris is firmly planted in the here-and-now and continues to inspire fans with his honest songwriting and unique approach.

Earlier this year Morris was tour support on Russell Dickerson's She Likes It Tour across the Southeast and recently wrapped up his own headlining Hometown Heartbreak Tour which spanned the U.S.. Keep up with Morris on all platforms including – TikTokInstagramFacebookYouTube and Twitter.
