Ok here, is my update on the Rite Aid Deals for week of February 13th.
Do you notice anything missing in this photo? Grr. No Dove. My special order didn’t make it in and they had none at 9:12 am. Oh well, I will just be getting it free at Bottom Dollar.
Here are a few updates:
1. There was $1.00/2 Ziploc coupon in today’s inserts that I didn’t include in my matchups.
2. If you have a 20% discount the Axe comes down to $3.83 or $.42 each after bogo coupon & UPR.
3. If you have a 20% discont, the Ziploc Bags are $2.39 after discount instead of $2.50.
4. Limits – Light Bulbs 4 and Colgate 2. Both in ad and posted in store.
5. There is a TMF Rebate for Theraflu in some Smartsources today (Philly Inquirer has it if you are local to Philadelphia)
Theraflu – $4.99
Get $1.00 UPR
use $1.50/1 Theraflu Product, exp. 2-12-11 (SS 12/05/10)
or use $2/1 Theraflu Warming Relief Cold Caplets, exp. 2-12 (SS 12/5/10)
$1.99 after coupon + Submit Rebate
I did ok today, I was really hoping to have the overage from the Dove to eat out some of the OOP. I ended up burning a few UPRs – but I needed Ziploc bags.
Have any tips for this week? Leave them in the comments.
Heather says
Hey Shannon, wondering if you can clarify something for me. I went to RA to purchase some of the Chex Mix, and I found a .50/2 peelie on one of the bags. I also had a .50/2 from one of the inserts. I was just going to use the coupon from the inserts because it had a nearer expiration date, but my cashier said no I could use both, and they went through with no problems! She said that you can always use a manufacturer’s coupon, a coupon(peelie) from the item, and a store coupon. I always thought the peelies were manufacturer’s coupons also. Is this normal or did I just have a nice cashier?
I thought this was funny: the chex mix was 2/$3. I got $1 off from both of my coupons. Paid $2 with UP and got back $2 UP. The cashier said, “now that is shopping, that is shopping right there”. :)
Shannon says
@Heather,
She is incorrect -those peelies are manufacturer coupons.
Sherri says
I have a question about the $20 winter rewards. I got my $20 coupon yesterday – I don’t know how I will use it! I can’t remember the last time I paid that much oop. Maybe to stock up on some items that are SCR rather than UPR’s?
What would be the smartest thing to do with it??
Shannon says
@Sherri,
Certainly you can roll UPR right? There just isnt that much going on with SCRs lately.
Sandy says
@Shannon,
I have the same problem and still have $40 GOS from the holidays to spend as well. I’m thinking teeth whitening strips….
Shannon says
Sandy,
Ok so here is what I would do if I had $20 to spend –
I would get the Johnson & Johnson – use the coupons and roll that right into a UPR. That way your not losing any money.
If you get 7 you can burn about $14 of that, and there are a few other deals to make it work — does that make sense?
Alison says
I went this morning with my list and coupons in hand. Everything was on the shelf and I got everything in my plan. I love my Rite Aid (please keep in mind that I pass two that are closer to my house to go to this one and the manager is great too)!!!! I spent $16 UP rewards and got $16 back so I feel that I made out really well with my $1.02 OOP for 2 Bayer Asprin, 1 Excedrin, 2 Colgate, 2 GE CFL bulbs, 2 Dove Deos, and eggs (we were out). If they only had the milk that I needed, life would have been perfect :)
Shannon says
@Alison,
woohoo
Leah says
Just a quick note…I went to get the deodorant this morning around 11 and there were only two left….:( Also Oreo’s have a $1 +UPR and you can use VV for $1/2 making them $1.29 each. :)
Shelley says
After reading these posts I didn’t expect to find any Dove deodorant left at all when I got to Rite Aid late in the afternoon but to my surprise they still had several left. These days I’m always so shocked when I actually see a deal item on the shelf instead of an empty space. haha
coralie says
@Roseann, i’m guessing that maybe your regular price is higher than theirs. i find that my store is higher on many things as opposed to stores further away in more populated areas.
Whitney says
Can you tell me exactly what lightbulbs you purchased? My store rarely marks all the sale items and all the bulbs were marked full price. I can only take so many things up to the cashier and ask them to check the price.
Oh, and no Dove for me either at 10:30 am – though I was in yesterday for something else and there was plenty.
Chrys says
@Whitney, The single CFL bulbs were all marked in my store (like the one in the pic above)
Leanne says
hi – re: the AXE body spray – they were 1 body spray for 2/$9, but my Rite Aid had 2 packs for 2/$9. I bought 4 x 2 packs used 2 B1G1 so I paid $9 and got $6+UP next 8 body sprays for $3
Amber says
So it wasn’t just me on the special order? I thought it was just my store. Mine did not come in. I guess we can get rain checks and get it for free, I was just really looking forward to the extra UPS.
Shannon says
@Amber,
Yep not just you :(
coralie says
@Shannon, can you reorder for this week’s truck?
Shannon says
@coralie,
not wasting my time with it. She said that pretty much don’t expect it to come. The truck comes Saturday and they usually dont even get it unloaded til Saturday night.
Jenna says
@Shannon, I feel really lucky. I preordered for the sensitive skin dove and it was in waiting for me. But I did feel really bad walking around the store with extra doves in my cart.
Sherri says
@Shannon, I ordered last week when I saw Shannon’s post. My store gets their trucks on Saturdays and they assured me that they would call when it’s unloaded and I will still get the UPR’s. Yay!
Shannon says
@Sherri,
great!
Sherri says
@Shannon, I don’t know what the actual policy is BUT my store always deducts the UPR from the sale amount when they write the rain check.
If they don’t deduct it into one price ($1each) , they write it out “2 for $4 minus $2 UPR”. Does your store do that? Just a thought! Though, I get most of my Rite Aid thoughts from you so I’m sure you have probably gone there already :)
Shannon says
Sherri,
I have heard that recently a memo came down not allowing stores to do this.
rachel says
@Amber,
Hmmm I am worried ordered johnson and johnson qs and was planning on doing a special order for next week. Is it common for your special orders not to come? My store will only raincheck for quanity 1 so my 20 qs I ordered will go to waste if my order doesn’t come!
keli says
@rachel, I asked my manager if they could order some Right Guard for me, and he said no they couldn’t order anything. But he did say that if I got a raincheck I would still get the UPS. Sometimes I think the managers don’t know anymore than we do :/
Krista says
I went to 2 stores this morning and neither had any Dove, so I went home and called 3 or 4 other ones and they were out too. So annoying!!
Roseann says
Does anyone else get a discount on sale merchandise? I’m at the gold level and when something is on sale I get the sale price but do not get the 20% discount as well. I noticed that a few posters stated that they got a discount on the ziploc bags ($2.39 vs. $2.50) but I was charged $2.50 per box. Just curious.
Janet says
Those of us that got the ZIploc for $2.39 had the regular price at $2.99. Depending on the type of bag depends on the regular price. Some of mine were $3.99 regularly. I think it was just the snack and sandwich size that were regularly $2.99 in my store. You only get the bettter of the sale or 20% NOT both(note a BOGO sale , IS a sale so no additional discount)
Angela says
My store did not have any Dove left when I arrived as well. But, my cashier was so nice and obviously like coupon ladies like myself. The Dove Ultimate that she did have left on the shelf she made work for the price minus the +UP. So, I was able to get 14 sticks on Dove Ultimate and only use 7 of my coupons. She made each stick only cost $1. I am not sure why she was so helpful but I am sure glad that she was.
Kristin L. says
@Angela, I had a great cashier today too!! I didn’t realize that the Dove Ultimate wasn’t included in the sale (silly me) so I bought 8 of them FOR FULL PRICE, which of course I didn’t even realize until after I had used all my 20 million $1 UPR Rewards and got my receipt. OOOPS!!
Anyway, when I went back to the cashier, she gave me a CASH refund for all the deodorants, then rang up 8 of the correct deodorants at $2 each so the rewards would print out. And she let me keep the Dove Ultimates that I had originally chosen!
So I walked away with 8 of the Dove Ultimates, about $24 cash and (4) $2 UP Rewards! Yay!
Feona says
Wonder why no one has mentioned the $1 off Any Gain Detergent that was in the RP today and that makes the $.87 Gain Dish Detergent FREE with overage. I bought 3 today and it worked no beeps. Hmmmmm
cassie says
@Feona, Really? I didn’t think it was considered detergent! I guess if it is I will just have to go get me some!
Erin says
@Feona, I think it’s because detergent is not the same as dish soap. I think the coupon is supposed to be for the laundry detergent.
Julie says
Shannon, I wanted to mention that Gas-X Prevention 20 ct. IS included on the 4.99 w/ $1 UP this week! I went this morning and the sign was up on the 20 ct. Prevention slot(none left so I will check elsewhere).
Giovanna says
Went to my local Rite Aid today, I handed the cashier a $1.00 Video Value Coupon, and was asked for ID. Cashier said it was their new policy, since a lot of people have been using fake names in order to have multiple Adperk accounts. Can’t even believe it!
april says
@Giovanna, i work at a rite aid and we havent had to ask for i.d. yet, but i bet we will start that soon, we have one man that comes in our store all the time with 4-6 different wellness cards and VV coupons with up to 6-7 different names (that ive seen so far) …*rolls eyes*
Oanh says
@Giovanna, LOL what are those people going to show for those fake names now?
Kristin L. says
@Giovanna, Wow, checking IDs is pretty hard core!
Although I have to admit, I have 3 different cards that I use and 3 different Adperk accounts to go with them. But they aren’t fake!! One is mine, one is my sister’s, and one is my mom’s. But since I’m usually the one who does the Rite Aid shopping, I’ve sort of ended up in charge of all 3.
cassie says
@Kristin L., I have 2, one for me and one for my husband. I wonder if that is against the rules?
Nina says
I bought the Powerball Finish tabs and they rang up $6.49. I used 2 of the $2.25 coupons and the video values $1 off.
Louise says
A note about the colgate – I found a 5.8 oz (right size) with a free toothbrush but it was a different price (2.49 I think) & didn’t count for the 3.50 UPR. Also, check the expiration date for the 3.50 UPR – mine was 3/5/11, which is 10 days earlier than the other ones I have been getting.
Katherine says
@Louise,
Louise, I think the weekly UPR’s from this week should all expire on 3/5. It is the monthly ones (like the food ones- usually not advertised on the flyer; sometimes on the shelf) that expires 3/15/11. Hope this helps!
Leanne says
@Louise, hi = I got the one with the toothbrush – it rang up $2.49 – I used the $1 coupon and I got $3.50 +UP back
Melissa says
how much did the finish ring up or everyone? Mine rang up normal price of $6.99 but was BOGO.
Tara says
@Melissa, Mine was 5.99 BOGO too – with 2 of the 2.25 coupons and the 1.00 video values not a bad deal.
Dee says
Shannon,
How much was your Finish & what Qs did you use?????
Krissy says
I was able to find the dove at 2 stores but they each only had 2 sticks each of the sensitive skin and fresh! 2! I got them at the first store bc I got there first, I saw a lady circling me trying to look in my basket but it’s hard to not be a “shelf clearer” when a store only has 2 items in stock. Then I think I discovered an untapped rite aid down the road so they still had the dove.
Kristin M says
@Krissy,
My store had 12, I took 6 of them (which is taking advantage of 3 offers) – a man came right up behind me and took the other 6. These stores are SO unprepared! 12 in stock is enough for only 6 people to take advantage of the Dove offer until truck comes again on Friday. I might start calling the managers a few weeks in advance and telling them what is going to be hot so they are more prepared. I purchased 20 of these Qs so I’ll be getting some rainchecks.
Krissy says
@Kristin M, Yeah they seem to really not know about the good deals, some probably don’t care! Although I can’t complain, I’ve gotten everything I wanted since I started RA, and I’ve given up sleeping in on Sundays for it lol
Rikki says
Hey Shannon, I have a question about the Winter Rewards Program, went to RA this morning with my total towards $100 at 82.89. This was my purchase:
6 Dove Deodrants @ 2/$4
2 Colgate Toothpaste @ $3.50
2 Healthy Choice soups @ $1.50
The Dove and the Colgate are both part of the Buy & Save so that total would have been $19.00 added toward my Winter Rewards. Instead only 3.50 added ???? Going to call RA Customer service tomorrow to see what the problem was but thought you may know :) Sorry about your RA not having Dove :(
Thanks :)
Shannon says
@Rikki,
If you figure out the wonky Winter Rewards calculations.. let me know LOL. I reached mine already, but it went up and down for a bit – no rhyme or reason!
Kristin says
@Shannon,
Mine did the SAME thing, but I ended up hitting it regardless. I could literally walk in and out of 1 store with $85, and then walk in and out of another store where I bought $20 more towards the reward and I would suddenly be at $60, lol. Hopefully you’ll hit it no matter what!
Michelle says
This morning my Dove deodorant did not go towards my buy and save either.
Cindy says
I did not see Colgate or Dove deodorant on the Winter Rewards list. There were a couple of different Dove products. I am going by the list on the Rite Aid website.
Michelle says
@Cindy But there is a “Buy & Save” logo in the ad right next to the Dove deodorant.
Trish says
If you used your phone number instead of scanning your card that could be why. When your card gets scaned it defaults to give credit to the original owner BUT its a little known fact that your spouse/family can register online for a card and use the same phone number and they get linked to your account. I earned my $20 rewards and then used my phone number on the next transaction and had them select my husbands name at the prompt and started over again and i’m $39 away from getting that WR. My store manager actually told me about it. You have to specify which name to run it under or they just pick one themselves when using a telephone #
Rikki says
@Trish, I used my card Trish, the same one that I always use because it is on my keys ???? Thanks for all the responses though, going to call customer service tomorrow and find out what is going on.
The Colgate and dove both had “Buy and Save” logos next to them too so ?????
Chrys says
@Rikki, I’m interested to know what they say, since I struggle to hit the $100, and that $8 credit would make me only $9 away!
michelle says
i did get everything i set out for–but i *wish* that rite aid had better stock of things! only 1 ragu at the first store i tried and only 2 at the next! there were only a handful of the dove around too!
i made out well with the Almay though and used the $2/1 coupon to get some clearanced (75%) eyeshadow for free and i’ll submit it for the SCR. woot!
Nina says
I got to my store right when it opened at 10, first time I got there as it was opening on a Sunday. I was surprised at how many coupon shoppers were there lol. Anyway, they had one Dove invisible solid left, so I picked up a Degree. Luckily I had a $1 off coupon from some Unilever mailer I got a while back.
