Black Friday 2014: Sears ad leak posted + Black Friday follow list & tips

Another Black Friday 2014 ad scan has been posted.  This time GottaDeal.com beat other ad leak sites to the punch with the 64 page Sears Black Friday ad this afternoon. Sears will open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The sales include appliances, TVs, tools, clothing and more. Go here to see the ad scan with browse cues at the bottom of the page.

So far we haven't seen a lot of ad leaks posted.  Stage stores, Dell, Harbor Freight and a few others are on the Black Friday forums.  This could be a sign of what's to come for Black Friday shoppers and deal bloggers/sites.  Retailers are releasing their own ads earlier each year.  For instance yesterday we saw Lowe's post their ad via social media.

Retailers are catching on to the social media power of sharing ads early instead of releasing ads the traditional way, i.e. the Thanksgiving Day paper.

If you want to follow a customized deal list featuring Black Friday sites, Amazon and other deal forums head over here to a list I created on Facebook.  You'll see the updates as I see them, for the most part.

APPROACHING AD LEAKS:

Remember these are ad scans from various parts of the US.  Black Friday ads can vary by region.

If you plan on shopping at a store who's ad has been leaked, make sure you see the ad for your region when it's available.  Prices, brands and quantities can vary.

Also now is a good time to start your list of wants.  If you see a TV on sale, keep a journal (online or hard copy) of price, brand and stats.  This will help you streamline your Black Friday shopping in the store or online.

One more tip: Stores will have different deals online, often times that's a good thing.  Just because something is feature in the ad, it doesn't mean it's going to be online too. Keep that in mind as you prep for one of the biggest shopping weeks of the year.
