NOTE: PLEASE READ THIS POST HERE ABOUT THE TP and TISSUE DEAL
I made a quick trip to Rite Aid this morning. I didn’t have my entire scenario ready, but I wanted to check into the TP deal.
So, you aren’t going to believe how much toliet paper my store had in stock.. wait for it…..wait for it… 1 ROLL. One lousy roll. I got there exactly when the store was opening. I said to the manager, you are going to have a really bad day. He was like why? I said you have NO toilet paper. He said don’t remind me.
You know, not being in Rite Aid for 12 days is hard for me. If Rite Aid ever closes, I may need medication.
So no TP at that store for me. I will be going to another a little later when I get my entire list together.
The TGI Fridays didn’t work for me – but I did get 11 $1.00 UPR and 1 $3.00 UPR with my purchase. The Toliet Paper is NOT issuing a $3.00 UPR wyb $10.00, just the tissues according to many readers – so do not expect the UPR. Again, just the tissues are generating the $3.00 upr wyb $10.00 worth.
I saw some great clearance finds, but apparently I was still in vacation mode — I left the house without my cell phone, so I could not take pictures.
Note: The Wellness discount is not a factor with the tissues – the regular price is $1.99.
See all of this week’s Rite Aid deals here.
Note: Please do not bash each other in the comments– come on guys, lets play nice — I am not for hoarding but name calling is just childish. I was at Rite Aid first this morning and they had 1 – there was no shelf clearer before me, they just had 1 and guess what I took it- so technically I cleared the shelf !
Cathy says
Hi everyone. I have been reading all the comments about Rite Aid. I am a cashier for Rite Aid and I have to say that I totally agree with all of you. First let me say that I LOVE all of you couponers. I am amazed at the deals you come up with. Without seeing all of you do this, I would have never become a couponer myself. So Thank You! Now, we have several couponers that will clear the shelves every chance they get or will buy product they don’t even use or want in order to make money with the +UPs. Not only does it upset all of you, it also upsets us as well because we hate to be the bearers of bad news that we are all out of the products you are all wanting (especially when we have just opened 1 minute ago). Sometimes, even though we do order the products in advance, we do not receive it from the warehouse and there is nothing we can do about that. Writing rainchecks doesn’t bother me a bit, but I do think it is very unfair and selfish to clean the shelves (unless of course there is only a couple left). Rite Aid does not limit very often as they feel it would be bad customer service. However, not having the product to begin with is not so good either. Remember, you can always get a rain check. When writing rainchecks, our store will write it with the +UP included with a notation that reads “If bought after xx/xx/xx, then Price – +UP = final price”. This way you do get to take advantage of the +UP. I would like to suggest that those of you who would like to buy a large amount of a sale product, go to your manager and ask if he/she will special order it for you. That way, you can still get the sales products without worrying about somebody else cleaning the shelves before you. I’m not sure all managers will do this, but it’s worth a try. JUST MAKE SURE you ask for the rain check in case the products come in after the sale. Having a special order come in after the sale will not get you the sale price without the rain check. As for returns, you will receive the price of the item before coupons or +UPs. Coupons and +UPs are like cash to us. So if the product was $5.00 and you used a $2.00 coupon, 2 $1+UPs and $1 cash, you would receive $5.00 cash back. We will give you back your money the same way you paid for it.. Debit and gift card purchases are given as cash. If you used a credit card, it must be put back to your credit card. The only time a return is put on a “Merchandise Return” card is if you don’t have a receipt. You may not get the full purchase price returned to you with no receipt as the register will only give you the lowest price the product has been in the last 30 days. So please keep those receipts.
I’m sorry this post was so long, but I hope it has clarified some of your questions and comments. Thank you for being loyal Rite Aid customers.
Shannon says
@Cathy,
Thanks for taking the time to post and give us some insight.
Cathy says
@Shannon,
You’re Welcome. I hope this answered some of the questions everyone has been having.

The +UP printed on the TGI snacks for me. Anyone know the limit on that and if it will work on any of the other snacks on sale?
Alice says
I work in transportation and when weather hits I can tell you for a fact, the truck drivers are allowed to say “no I’m not moving” for their safety. Due to this bad snow storm this last week most stores in weather hit areas and even some that had trucks coming from weather hit areas are short product. They are about 1-2 trucks behind at a lot of the grocery stores and drugstores. I was told at Publix that customers actually put in bad reviews for their store because they had no fresh flowers and closed early DURING the Storm. This really disappointed me as these people help us with our shopping every week. They patiently ring up our products at drugstores and grocery stores a like and most of the time treat us with the up most respect. So when they have a couple hiccups we turn on them with no understanding. I know my local Rite Aid gets only 1 truck a week so imagine how behind they are, but they are trying. Also during a storm what sale is worth anyone’s safety including that young girl ringing you up at the register. I actually skipped shopping this last week and enjoyed being “snowed in”. I don’t want this to come across as an attack I want all to realize there are many factors in getting items on your shelf. Since working in Transportation and Retail I found that I am far more understanding and wanted to pass what I’ve learned along.
Paige says
I do my drugstore trips on Moday mornings. I have 3 rite aids withnin 10 minutes of each other. So I stopped at my first one, they only had 6 of the tp so I bough 3. But they were wiped of the tissues. So I thought no big deal, I’ll get some at one of my other stores. Nope, the other stores were completely sold out. And they all get their trucks and Wed. So I’ll be going back on Wed to get my stuff and possibly rainchecks if they get cleared out by everyone else before I get there. But I was able to the TGI snacks. I got a little at each store. Two of the stores didn’t even have the right shelf tag (said 2.97) but the rang up the right price. Plus got my ups :)
Amy says
It is soooo frustrating when you go to Rite Aid and they DON’T have the sale items in stock. I have often gone only to find maybe 1 or 2 there if any. I always get a raincheck however. When there is an UP+ reward, my store will issue the raincheck for minus the UP+ reward. So if something is on sale for $3.00 and the UP+ is $2.00, the raincheck will be issued for $1.00.
Now I wonder how or what limits will be applied to a raincheck on the FREE with UP+ reward toilet paper??? Can one get 20 TP rainchecks?
Tabatha says
Well my store didn’t have the TP, they were plum out so I didn’t worry about it. But then I thought I grabbed the right tissues and I was wrong so instead the manager gave me a rain check for the right tissues and even included the UPR’s I’ll be missing. When I asked about how she wrote it, she said she wrote it that way so I get the tissues for free since by the time I can use the rain check I won’t be able to get the UPR’s! How incredible is that!? I’m pretty excited that I will still end up with free tissues even after a rain check! (oh and I did find some TP at another store in my area) :-)
Christie says
My frustration is with drug stores especially when they have these sales where your get x amount of rewards if you buy $20-$30 of a product and they do not even have enough on the shelf for 1 customer to take advantage of the sale! I feel most stores are “baiting and switching” when they know they usually only have a few on the shelf at any given time and corporate knows about these sells and no extras are sent to the stores . I am not advocating clearing the shelf when it is a one product deal!
Sandra says
Wasn’t able to snag much TP, but I did get to grab the tissue deal. My kids’ daycare will be happy :) Also got to spoil my hubby with the TGIF snacks. He loves the potato skins. He has been working so hard on the house that I was really pleased to be able to give him some “junk” food that he really likes (and have it be free.)
Stephanie says
I just double-checked the circular again, and there is absolutely no mention of getting a $3 UPR when you buy $10 worth of tissues – it is my understanding that you get $1 UPR per box of tissues purchased. I don’t understand your wording – could you please clarify??? Thanks! :)
Shannon says
@Stephanie,
The $3.00 UPR is a month long deal.. see signs in store.
Buy $10, Get $3.00 UPR.
kimberly says
You know, not being in Rite Aid for 12 days is hard for me. If Rite Aid ever closes, I may need medication….
Shannon-thanks for the laugh!!I know the feeling…went to 2 stores midday,found 5 boxes of tissues,and no other paper product at all.Went to one other later in the day,no tissues,but at least they had the tp-both kinds,thanks to a sign that read limit 2 of the 4 pk and limit 4 on the single roll.I was actually glad to see the signage posted b/c at least I was able to come home w/something ..and was happy w/ that.
Megan says
so i went to my rite aid today. i bought 10 boxes of tissues and 5 4-packs of the simplify TP. only $5 +UPs printed for me. :( im rather frustrated bc i cant even find my receipt!!! luckily i did a second transaction right after so i can figure out the transactin # from that receipt for when i call tomorrow. i bought the tgi friday snacks and no UPs for me on those either. :( overall…disappointing. if i cant get the 10 $1UPs plus the one $3 UP for the tissues im going to ask to return them.
Shannon says
@Megan,
Which tissues did you buy – double check the count.. the two boxes look similar.
Tabatha says
@Shannon,
Yeah I had the same problem because the tissues are tricky too! One says Simplify on them and the other doesn’t even though they are both RA brand! I’m glad at the store I went to the manager spoke up before I paid!!!
krissi says
I won’t make it is until tomorrow. I am sure they will be gone. Can you get a rain check on an item like this?
Tabatha says
@krissi,
I was able to get a rain check on the tissues. I would ask, it can’t hurt!
Amy says
My RA’s paper product shelf was empty, but I know they get their deliveries on Saturday, so I asked if they just hadn’t out everything out yet. Apparently the put out a TON of tissues and TP and a woman came in when they opened and bought ALL of it. Like almost a whole pallet. She apparently does that sort of thing every week, and then buys all their copies of the WaPo on the way out. Guess I’ll have to get up earlier if I really want something. I’m planning to check the store by my work to see if I can get my 10 boxes of tissues. I’m a teacher, so I could really use them for the classroom.
Laura F says
Ugh. A whole pallet? That is a little much! Hope you are able to find your tissues. :)
supercouponguy says
we just moved to Seattle, and was surprised by how quick stock is depleted… in Midwest…nobody is as aggressive..and there’s like stores everywhere….. Rite Aid manager told me that one guy took entire toilet paper stock at 8:01am he took all 24 to get his limit Ups and one other person grabbed the last one…… he said this guy usually cleans out everything on sunday’s and comes back when truck is unloaded on Wed and does it again….
Amber says
@supercouponguy, ANNOYING!!! I can’t WAIT until RA puts limits on the UPRs just like CVS does on their ECB’s.
katie says
I got 16 tolls total from 2 different Rite Aids that I pass on my way home. I got 10 from the first one and they had 40 or so rolls and packs left. Then I picked up 6 more from the RA by my house, but they were close to out. It’s not the best TP ever, but it gets the job done. And I won’t get quite so upset when my 3.5 year old uses way more than she needs.
Shannon says
@katie,
I love it. It gets the job done!
Katie says
@Shannon, :)
Trish says
I was able to get 5 packs of Rite Aid TP (not simplify) and they were $1 and I got back $1 up. There was no sign up for them but I bought them b/c they were out of the deal and I still wanted to buy some TP for my granny who doesn’t get very much from social security to live on.
Kathy says
Shannon, do you know if you can earn more than 1 $20 reward? I am close to $200 and I have already received 1 $20 reward.
Megan says
@Kathy,
no you cant :( i asked. if you notice at the bottom of your receipt it also says youve already earned your $20 resolution reward :( boo
Annie says
@Kathy, Kathy,
The mgr at my store specifically told me that YES, you can earn an unlimited amount of rewards. $200 gets you a $40 reward, $300 gets you $60, and on and on.
Dana says
@Annie, Oh that would be great! My receipt statedI already received my $20, but of course I would LOVE another one!
Maria says
@Annie, Sorry to say but I think that Manager is wrong, mine stopped calcuating after I reached the $100 and I received my $20 reward.
Jenny says
I don’t shop on Sundays (religious beliefs) so by the time I get to the stores Monday morning I have very limited to choose from. I am not saying anyone is “clearing” the shelf i’m just saying with all the couponers in my area its hard to stock enough for everyone. Oh well! I do the best I can with my beliefs.
Thanks for all your hard work in helping me plan my trips to Rite Aid! I too am a Rite Aid addict and would just DIE if they ever closed the store near me.
Thanks!
Shannon says
@Jenny,
Tip for you – ask your store what day their truck comes.. you may be able to get some of the deals on that day.
We are still very blessed to get this stuff at a great price .. whether its 1 or 20.
Cindy says
@Jenny, I also do not shop on Sunday, but I’ve always been blessed to find great deals other days of the week.
Michelle says
I went to 2 Rite Aids this morning. Both stores had a limit of 2 tp & 2 tissues.
Liz Taylor says
@Michelle,
Does anyone know if they keep “score” and will issue the UPR when you eventually do buy 10?
Shannon says
@Liz Taylor,
no score keeping.. I wish!
Sally says
A little disappointed, I did not and never do get to shop first thing because we are always at church on Sunday morning, but normally I get to go right after lunch. We have a birthday party to go to right now, so no Rite Aid probably at all today! What will I do?!? LOL, I think I will still find most of my list items later in the week, but not the TP and Tissue. I am in need of paper towels so hoping for a free/cheap deal on those soon!
Denise says
While I can appreciate the annoyance of going to a store and finding an empty shelf, whether it is from a customer or the store not planning for their stock, there are much worse problems in life. If I saw a woman with her children getting as much as they could and the shelf was empty, I’m going to believe that she must really need it. Escalating things in words on a blog or in person in a store (remember the security guy that was trampled to death at Walmart on Black Friday 2009?) makes me think some people really focus on
things instead of the people. I hope not.
Shannon says
@Denise,
Denise, I Could not agree with you more. It is just toilet paper and yes I was annoyed, but thought it was funny that the manager already knew he was in for it. I made a joke and will just find another store — but I am not going to be angry — I get so much for free and I am totally blessed beyond what I ever deserve in many many ways!
Laura F says
Very true!
nicole says
Wow…lots of anger. I always leave some for others and usually tell my fav cashiers what the best deals are but it is kinda hard to understand the harsh statements when you have to buy 10 to get the extra UP. Cant blame someone for buying 10….come on! The person at 10 am has mental problems but the one at 10:01 doesn’t? Some deals you get some you dont..some areas get good coupons, some dont. Lets be NICE!!
Tiffany T says
I made out very well today. I did get the 10 tp and 10 UPs back and I did get 10 tissue and got 13 UP back. I did a deal with old spice, had the same issue, cashier had to push through.
Something went wrong in the computer. long and short of it I went to the car and did the math. Here it had the right amount for product and the right amount for coupons but the coupons did not really come off the total, so after trying to figure out this mess, they gave me my $11 back in cash that I used in UPs.
I am going to be double checking from now on :) My girls at Rite Aid were great today!!! Made this mess a lot easier!
Tracy says
The cashier told me someone before me bought 65 rolls of TP. None left for me, but I did get some facial tissues and the $3 UPR. I did get $1 UPR for the TGIF snacks.
My store had lots of Christmas stuff left for 90% off.
Tricia Davies says
I just made a return trip to my RA to get the 65 ct tissue deal. There was a 4 box limit imposed by the manager. When I politely explained that RA was offering an additional 3 UPR on 10, she said I was being unfair to her and her other customers by buying 10 boxes. I said I felt she was being unfair to me by not letting me get a store advertised deal. She finally agreed to let me purchase the 10 boxes but was very nasty. Does anyone know if individual stores can impose limits like that? Thanks!
Melissa C says
@Tricia Davies, I also went to get the tissue deal and at my store they set a 2 tissue limit after another customer bought 10 this morning. I will be going to a few other RA’s to see if i can get the 10.
dizzymommy73 says
@Tricia Davies,
I went to two Rite Aids like that, one had imposed a one limit and the other 4. I let the manager know about the 10 for $3 UP and he told me that too many stores where hit with people buying everything on the shelf and would not allow it to be done. I didnt fight because I saw the grabbing first hand, I dont agree with it but till Rite Aid sets limits like CVS it will continue.
Nikki says
@Tricia Davies, Yup it is up to the manager to impose limits. I called corporate on another occasion to find out. At my store they had a limit of three because they won’t get a truck with more till next week when the sale is over.
elisabeth says
really? that doesn’t seem fair. If there is no limit advertised then they shouldn’t be able to limit it either! Especially with the $3/10 reward going. Corporate is condoning and even encouraging the purchase of multiple products and the manager overrides corporate because he doesn’t feel like issuing rain checks? Not right. If he/she does impose a limit it should be 10 so that the reward can be reached.
Amy says
@Tricia Davies, Hmm. My manager said that corporate really discourages them from putting limits on the number of sale items people can buy. She said they really want the up-front money, because that should guarantee that the person will come back to spend more money than it’s worth.
melissa says
I bought the 85count tissues and didn’t get the +UPs and I paid with +UPS. So how would this work if I was to return the facial tissue? Do I ask for it to be put on a RA GC??
Shannon says
@melissa,
At my store they just return them and give you cash? So if it was $1.00 you get a $1.00 return like normal.
melissa says
@Shannon,
Thanks Shannon, I’m just worried into running into a problem at the register. I will see what they say.
Tiffany T says
@melissa, I had an issue before and my store did give me cash back! Good luck!
sherrie says
@melissa,
one of my stores refuses to do anything if you pay with ups, but other stores have put it on a gift card.
nancy says
The people who go in and just grab all of it are really annoying. I hope Rite Aid starts limiting things! Too bad a few ruin things for everyone else.
Tammy says
I just got back from 4 different Rite Aids..i know what your thinking 4!!! but they are w/in a 2mile loop so it’s not bad..lol…at 9am..and all of them had very little stock, of the TP and tissues, and the one store that had an abudance was limiting your purchase to 2 each, however, as we were walking in i saw the Mgr. and another empolyee coming out w/ a whole bag of stuff..so when i went up to the register and the girl told me only 2 each i spoke to that mgr. and told her that you needed 10 of the tissue to get the extra $3 and she said there wasn’t so i told her..if the extra 3 didn’t print i would return all of it…needles to say i got the 10..lol..and the last store didn’t have any of anything and they don’t get their truck till tues. i told the mgr. they are in for a very long day.. I have a question though how do you handle Rainchecks w/ the ups? every rite aid i go to i get a different story…
Shannon says
@Tammy,
There is no consistent answer with the rain checks, so I just suggest asking at the store.
Mel says
@Shannon, I called Rite Aid customer service and asked about rain checks with UPs and she told me that they would deduct the UP when you redeem your raincheck. For example, if something is $5 and has a $1 UP, they would just charge you $4. BUT, I have no idea how they would do it if it’s free after UP and this is also an issue when something would have been a MM after UP. Rain checks also don’t work when you have SCRs. But if it wasn’t for rain checks, I’d never get anything. My store gets a truck every OTHER Friday. Ugh!
Shannon says
@Mel,
Yeah the stores are the issue. They dont folllow the rules and make up there own !
elisabeth says
My local RA gives you a rain check that gives you the product for free if its free after +UPs! It may be a YMMV, dunno?
Jodi says
@Tammy, I guess I am lucky! My store had a HUGE shelf of the toilet paper and a clerk was unpacking more from a box. I had no problem picking up 10! I don’t like to be greedy myself so only got the 10 but I may try again later this week – I figure at that point everyone has at least had an opportunity and then I can have a second go-around at it! Good luck!
Tammy says
@Jodi,
I understand the needs for the limits..as some readers have pointed out people taking 65! that’s a little extreme, but if there is an advertised sale you should be able to get the limits to reach the deal..getting the 10 tissues and the extra 3+up, but i do have a problem w/ hypocrites..don’t tell me the store is limiting it to two when i see you(the manager and employee) carring out a whole huge bag of stuff out to you car..I mean if mgrs. and employees want to take advantage of the sale that’s fine but then abide by the same rules you set for your customers….
Jennifer K. says
@Tammy,
I usually go to five or six different Rite Aids every week – and that’s out of the ten or so that I can think of in this area. Three of them are walking distance from my house! It’s Rite Aid heaven around here.
Tammy says
@Jennifer K.,
Same for me..I have four w/in a two mile loop, not including the others that are w/in 10 min. or so it’s great living right in the city…so i do the same..ill go around to all of them and take a little bit from each..that way it’s balanced..I would have been ok w/ the 2 limit set but when i see the mgr. carrying out a whole bag of tp and tissues for herself as i’m walking in and then telling me i can’t get the 10 needed for the deal that’s the problem i have…it’s alot easier to respect someone when they are following the rules that they set for others..
Krissy says
I went to 3 RAs this morning bc frankly I would feel very silly buying that much TP at once, all three stores had plenty so I got 10 single rolls from 2 of the stores and the other I bought 10 tissues however my receipt cut off so I only got 9 ups so I’m missing 1 up and the $3 for buying $10 so I guess I will call to try and get those. The TGI Fridays worked for me. The only issues I had was using the BOGO old spice coupons, the register said it couldn’t find matching products but I got exactly what the coupon said so the cashier pushed them thru. All in all it was a good RA day except now I have a bunch of $1 ups to use.
ddawb says
I’m from WI where Rite Aid doesn’t exist, but went to MI this weekend and finally saw many Rite Aid stores!!! I was super excited that I might get a chance to go in and see what all these amazing deals were about.. but sadly we didn’t have time to stop in.. ;(
Tricia says
I bought 10 rolls of the tp this morning. After my discount, I paid $6.90 and I got back 10 UPR. I’m going to head back and check out the tissue deal!
Tina Seymour says
@Tricia, wow $0.69 a roll?? my discount was $0.80 for the 4 pk and $0.95 for the single roll. I am at the gold. I guess its more expensive in Mississippi? lol
dizzymommy73 says
There was a couple buying it all right when I got there when they opened. The also had no Viactiv, which made me sad because I have to take the Calcium chews (3-5 times a day per doctor) they get expensive fast.
Caroline says
@dizzymommy73, I got 2 Viactiv boxes this morning…I wish I could send them to you!! They are just sitting in my donate pile. :(
Tammy says
@Caroline,
same here..i didn’t get any today but i’m sure that there are some left at one of the 4 stores that i go to..if your close to philly i can help :-)
elisabeth says
Just an fyi, my obgyn told me not to waste money on Viactiv anymore. That Tums (& generic equivalant) have just as much calcium. These are much cheaper. Since you have doctors orders, you may have a reason that this may not work for you but you may wanna ask the doc, at least. Just a suggestion, I know these can get super expensive even when you are a couponer!
Jolene says
Had a good trip at rite aid, went to 2 different ones this morning. They were limiting the tp at our store in pottsville to 6 so no 3.00 upr for me. That’s okay though. I came home and looked in my cabinets and thought after all the shopping I’ve done over the past week, I can’t fit another thing into my cabinets. I feel so blessed right now.
Jodi says
@Jolene, Don’t feel too bad – the $3 UP doesn’t seem to be working on the TP anyway!!!
Tiffany T says
@Jolene, I like your attitude! Even though you could not get 10 still thankful for what you did get! I agree with you! I am so thankful for the deals I have been able to get, blessed is a perfect word!
Tina Seymour says
oh boy Shannon… I was not prepared this morning at all and I completely forgot about the extra $3 ups on the facial tissue!
I did get my ups for the chips and all the TP … messed up the tissue though. All my Hormel printed.
I bought 7 of the 4 packs – those rang up at $0.80 each and got $1 for each (cleared the shelf … thats what happens when there is only 7 packs for a family with 4 bathrooms)
6 of the facial tissue (accidently bought 3 – 85 ct & those rang up at $0.95 with NO up reward) and i got 3 of the 65 ct – which rang up at $1 and I got $1 up back for each.
1 bought 5 of the single rolls of the RA tp – which rang up at $0.95 each and got $1 up back on each (left lots of those… i wasnt sure if we would like it … never bought it before)
I bought 8 cans of Hormel chili and got $10 in ups back
I bought 11 bags of TGIF chips for $0.97 each and got $11 ups back. (I thought I grabbed 10 bags lol and no I did not clear the shelf… there was probably about 8 left :)
I will probably go back and see if they have any of the 65 ct facial tissue left and get 10 more boxes to see if the $13 ups print out… I am just curious lol
good luck on your next outing … hope you find some toilet paper
welcome back – I know you had a great time and it was worth missing a week of RA deals!!!
michelle says
not enough tissues at my store! only 6! boo! i got to my store at 6:30 and the lady in front of me had 30 tp in her cart. there were a few on the shelf left for me, but not much! it is a shame that rite aid doesn’t/can’t stock better for sales!
sandra says
@michelle, i would have said something to her! nicely of course
Viki says
@sandra,
My store had a sign stating there is a limit of 2 per household per week. I was sad, too.
Tammy says
@sandra, i think a couple of things would make it easier..1 if they could keep track of the amounts like CVS does..that way you don’t have to buy the 10 at one time…also to put a limit to 10 of each or something like that….and of course stock better..i mean 1 store i went to had nothing and said that they hadn’t had any since last week and they weren’t getting their truck till tues..I mean that’s just stupid..you have a sale starting on Sunday and didn’t think to have it in for the start of the sale..??oh well..can’t complain to much…it is free after all…just have to get it later
Trish says
UGH, same thing in my store in NC, 10:01…1 minute after they opened 1 person bought an entire buggy full and left nothing on the shelf……nothing.
Jen says
Found a shelf clearer in Harrisburg… so angry! Not one pack of TP left on the shelf at 10:01 (the store opened at 10:00) but funny that someone stood at the register with an entire cart overflowing with it. It’s one thing to clear a shelf that only has 2 packs on it but to clear a shelf that has about 30? That’s just plain selfish.
Crista says
@Jen, Amen!
Emma says
<a href="#comme@Jen, tell me about! I just went in at 8:00 am they open then bc I needed my meds so I figure I would get a TP to try all gone 2 women and a child had 2 carts full and 2 baskets full of it and none at the shelf.
I wish that rite aid and other stores would put an end to the hoardering; this is why I like my Target hoarders stay way bc the manager will not let clear out same thing with my stop and shop.
Some of these people need mental help and they should not be ashmed of it, it is 2011 nobody cares if you seek help but the madness has to stop.
One should be able to find something on sale on the day of the sale ONE MINUTE after the store opens.
I know some will have an issue with my statement by again you are probably the one having a fit for the store to open already ” not sleeping the night before” so that you can clear out the shelves in your city and sorrounding cities.
Again no shame in seeking appropriate mental help.
leam says
@Emma, I don’t think they need mental help because you would done the same if you got there earlier. We are human and greedy is part of what we are. I don’t think I am going to get this deal since my family does not like to use Rite Aid tissue :)
EmmaLiz says
@leam,
I was there very early to pick precription medication for asthma.
You are mistaken, I never buy more then 2 items and even then only if I need them so grid as you put it doesn’t come my way.
It seems to me that you took offense which was not my intent but it goes to demonstrate that you might have an issue with hoarding look inside yourself.
leam says
@EmmaLiz, Don’t tell me you are not trying to buy 10 of the Tissues to get the extra $3 up reward if the store has them in stock and if there is no limit? because everyone would done that. I think it is selfish if they’re trying to get the whole things to themself but I don’t think they need mental help,lol. There is nothing wrong with being greed as long as you are not hurting or stealing from other :)
EmmaLiz says
@leam,
Not at all I have no need for tissues I never get the flu or allergies and live by myself though
and all I wanted was one single roll so I could try it bc I ussually buy scott and I am told that this a the same as scott. I would like to have tried it for free but I am not paying to try something.
I meant mental help for two carts fulla and also having your child carry 2 baskets full.
This is TP you guys are upset over nothing.
kim says
@EmmaLiz, you can give the extra tissues for donation:)
Kristin M says
@EmmaLiz,
EmmaLiz, why wouldn’t somebody stock up on a years worth of toilet paper if it is FREE? That’s not hoarding – that’s being smart. If you clear the shelves, however, that’s just being greedy. If stocking up on free toilet paper which WILL be used and will NEVER go bad makes me a hoarder, then hoarder I am :)
Kristin M says
@Emma, I walked into my local RA at 10:02 (opened @ 10) and yes, in the back by the toilet paper was a mom, her husband and kid loading up two carts worth. I found a little display area she hadn’t touched, and she suddenly came over and saw I had my hands on those and starting grabbing those. I ended up leaving with 6.
Now… mental illness? I think it is extreme to suggest that someone who wants to get a year or two worth of free TP has a mental illness or a hoarding problem. I would instead suggest she was being very selfish.
Went to another RA and was told I could only purchase 3 – 3??? For real? That’s fine, I’ll send my boyfriend in later this afternoon to get 3 and then I’ll stop tomorrow and get another 3!! Good luck to those who can stock up while they can :)
Amber says
@Jen, Agreed. While it is fun to get a great deal, I am hoping for the day when RA puts a limit on the UPR just like CVS does with their ECB. I know this might be sacrilegious but I think it is a fair way to do it!!!
Daphyn says
@Jen,
Jen,
Which Harrisburg store? I go to 3 different ones, so I’m curious about which store you’re talking about.
melisa says
@Jen,
I would also like to know which store in harrisburg? i went to the rite aid on union deposit rd at 11 this morning and they were all out of the tissues. They did have a decent supply of the toilet paper. The manager told me that some lady (shelf clearer!) took everything they had, 2 whole cases! Why such greed? He did say they would be getting another truck in on tues and one on thursday. They also had put a limit of 5 per person on each item. HTH!
Jen says
@melisa, this was the store on 29th St. I went to the store on Derry St. when they opened at 8 and there were 6 packages on the shelf. I took 3 and left 3 for someone else.
Emma says
Anyone knows how many facial tissue is required for the $3 to print?
Shannon says
@Emma,
10
Alyssa says
@Emma, I believe 10. I did less than that in 1 transaction and it didn’t print
Emma says
Why didn’t you get the four pack?
Were they out of that too?
I was told by my sister that this TP is very harsh and that
last time she used it bc she had nothing else at someone’s house she got a rash; she is an expert in TP she has chroms disease and IBS
and TP in her place is like water.
I know some are saying this is like Scott but she is telling me that this is not worth even if it is free.
I might get a role to check it out first, I suggest others do the same.
Shannon says
@Emma,
they had ONE roll. Literally ONE roll in stock.
Maybe she is sensitive to it, we’ve used it before. I stick it in my son’s bathroom and he hasn’t had any problems. Maybe if you use it constantly but for “normal” usage its ok.
Christy says
Is $1 the regular price for the tissue…so with a 20% discount will it ring up at 80 cents?
Shannon says
@Christy,
no $1.99 is the regular price.
Lauren M says
wow tgi fridays worked for me…..but my 2nd order with 19 uprs didn’t print a single one :(
don’t know what the limit is anymore
Amber says
Shannon, so glad the $3 UPR worked!!! My store must have gotten all of your TP- they had a TON:) However, no facial tissue for me which is what I really needed. They had loads of the 85 ct but none of the 65 ct. RATS!!! Also, speaking of stock, my RA didn’t even have plastic bags for bagging;) Good thing I bring my own!
Rose says
@Amber, About the plastic bags, many stores in Baltimore,MD has new policy that they won’t give you a bag unless you ask for it. It’s the part of campaign “Greener Baltimore”.
Chrys says
@Rose, haha, I love that they make you ask for a bag! I wish RA would come out with a green tag like CVS, that would be wonderful!
Amber says
@Chrys, Ooooh yes! I love my Green Bag Tag! I think I’ve made about $50 dollars off of it. I ALWAYS use my own bags (maybe it’s an Oregon thing even though now I live in MI) and hope that the plastic bags do get done away with soon….
Caroline says
@Chrys, OMG I quiver with excitement at the mere thought of that! I *heart* my green bag tag at CVS!
